specific map script

now... im thinking about posting a poll on what type of map we all want to play.. yes i know.. we already polled that.. but it was a close poll and some options were left out.. so im gonna make a poll with the top 2 choices and the custom continents added in.. but i want some feedback before i go ahead and post it..

just trying to see if everyones ok with a more specific binding poll on the map geography

First off, let's post this:

Now, I both agree and disagree with your post. One, continents won out by a large margin, so IMO only continents should be a choice on the next poll. The other four choices are within 10%, of each other and still less than half of continents, so if you chose to add one of them you might as well add them all, as close as they are.

In my opinion, the only choices should be either Continents or Custom Continents.

Here's my proposal for the next poll.

Which continents script should we use:
1. Continents
2. Custom Continents (# to be be determined later by citizens)
3. Abstain

*yet i think rather than have abstain we should have neither.. abstain on a vote like this seems.. well.. too annoying to take into account.. it shouldnt be that hard for people to decide between two options and abstain just shows indecision and gets nothing done blah blah blah.. i know.. weve all had our rants on that subject so now ill just stop

but I for one support custom continents.. 10 civs on 5 continents can be fun.. as much so as 15 on two

I support using standard continents. Custom continents doesn't seem to offer much advantage.

I agree with DaveShack. Standard continents make for better game play. (In my opinion) But I'm all for a re-pole on the climate or geography

If we used the 'continents' what does it do? Is it only two continents, or does it pick a certain amount based off of size and # of opponents?

I know what custom continents is, I just don't recall what standard continents is.

continents produces 2 continents running north to south and sometimes one or a couple small islands of a few tiles - the "original" continents mapscript (i.e. the one that Vanilla originally shipped with) was renamed "fractal" in 1.61 and striped of its controls so that it produces 1 to n continents.
