Ok the title is crappy but I'm in a hurry !

Could u give me a link to a site that could measure my internet speed.
I just changed my net provider with a 1Mbit speed connection that suppositely DLs at 120kb/s but my DSL tweak program says my highest speed connection was 50.38 kb/s

So I'd like to see what really is my spped connection at the moment . Thx :D

You better look for site belonging to the company you get the connection from. Otherwise you'll have other things affecting it.

BTW there was a thread about it a few months ago but without the search option it's hopeless to find it.

Microsoft used to have one on their site, but I can't find it now ...

OK, thank u I went to the company's site but it was quite odd : I tested it 3 times.
First time, they put 108.37 kb/s, second time 80 and third 120.58  :crazyeye:

Were you doing something while testing? Serfing, updating, dowloading, using a file sharing program? Or something in the computer (if the computer is busy it could slow down the connection)? Anyway a efw more times and see if it was just an exception.

Might be an idea to do a sustained test on it - say a 1 minute download. Repeat a few times to give a ballpark average.

Bear in mind transmission rates also depend on the speed of the server you are downloading from - if it's very busy this will cause a speed hit.

Moving this to the computer forum

I was going to suggest dlsreports. That's a pretty good site, they have a lot of utilities on it. On my old comp, when I had road runner the first time, it increased my d/l rate from 80kb/sec to 220 kb/sec, with a simple registry tweat. I think the link is www.dslreports.com/tweaks. If not, there should be a link to it on the home page.
