I am nearly done with the FFH: Age of Ice scenario in Beyond the Sword. However, when I pick up all three artifacts of the Godslayer and bring them to a city with a forge as instructed, nothing happens -- the sword is supposed to be reforged. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just click one of your units (e.g. the one that brought the pieces back) and select the reforge sword ability. If that doesn't work make sure that all 3 pieces are in the city or are held by units in your city.

Since the thread name say spoiler, I think its alraight then. You should go with your newly created sword hero to the west. The place is almost in the middle along the western map edge. Avoid the dragon.

Is there anyway to build a new galleon? Mine was pecked into matchsticks by an oversized budgie

That sucks about your galleon, BadaBing. I just finished this scenario -- a lot of fun! You actually do not need the galleon to get to the "island" (although it is certainly helpful) -- the island is connected via an isthmus way up north, through the gate, past the ogre, etc . . . Or, just cheat and reload an earlier autosave. Since this scenario is not all that "replayable," I allowed myself to do that a few times when things did not go my way (or to see what would happen if I made different choices with the various optional "quests" that popped up).

(By the way, that giant sparrow can be quite useful on your side if you capture it with a hunter/ranger . . .)

Well you do need it up until you actually pull the sword piece from the volcano/mountain. The isthmus is blocked by a volcano/mountain that turns into a crater plains after pulling the piece out on the island, so if you don't get a unit onto the island before the boat gets sunk you'll be in quite some trouble with trying to finish the game as there doesn't appear to be a way to build another galleon.

Yeah, if you lose the galleon before getting any unit to that island, just World Builder yourself a new one. It wasn't meant to be destroyed, sorry.

Thanks for the replies. I've explored the whole map and control everything so I figure I'll just 'magic' a ship into being with WB as suggested. Just to get 'closure' ...

Sorry, did not realize that the isthmus was blocked until the sword was pulled, since I pulled the sword before realizing the isthmus was there.

I saw the panthers and thought OMG, I'm gonna tame me some elusive panthers and build the Grand Menagerie! So I didn't go on to the island until I got a subdue hunter up there, didn't even know that's where the last piece was until very late into the game, but did find it was blocked by a mountain ;p

There is another way to get the sword... Just fly...

I received a hero with the "floating eye" spell and just by pure chance flew in there and released the sword piece.

I was playing very defensively and take the northan area until late game when i had 3 hero's of a high level and plenty of crossbows.

Great scenario but i would like to play random maps or other scenarios as well...

When the dragon came I had taken the cities owned by Mordak that were close and packed it with 15 troops, about 8 crossbows and kept shooting, for every guy that died each turn i was able to build a new one somewhere. I thought I might be able to kill it and reduced it to below 50 but then it just auto healed up to 54 or something and the process began again... Gave up at that stage and hunted down the end guy...

i do have a question, what is this galleon... I totally missed it and never saw it...

Also, how do you get to the guy on the island in the middle of the map, since the "floating eye" spell doesn't hurt em.

Thanks for the great scenario FFh boyz but need more expansions, maps, scenarios, ramdom stuff...

You're not supposed to want to kill him, but if you have advanced units, he probably won't be a problem. The orb on the west side of the lake keeps all blizzards away, so if you take it the lake will freeze over and he will escape.

About the only reason I want to replay the scenario is to see if I can kill that !@$% dragon this time, just for the challenge (even though I realize the scenario is not designed to have it killed -- I wonder if it can be "captured" with a ranger unit?). It became clear that you can't kill it by attacking over multiple turns, since it keeps healing (probably every time it gets a promotion, just like any civ unit -- the more you attack it, the more promotions it gets, the stronger it gets, and the more it heals). So, you need to take it out all at once in one turn, preferably before it has many promotions. I am thinking like, maybe, 100 archer units taking 1% each of it health, and then finishing it off (assuming having 100+ units does not cause my units to go on strike).

I took out the guy on the island with the giant flying bird I captured (after weakening him with a fireball from my sorceress), before realizing that you were supposed to get to the island by letting the lake freeze over after taking the orb.

The other thing I never got around to doing is capturing that deer. I was afraid of killing it if I did not use a ranger to capture it. It is pretty clear what the deer is for, if you take a close look at the civilopedia . . . Would have been pretty useful . . .

Really GREAT scenario (I usually hate scenarios, but this one plays much more like a regular game of civ, and does not overwhelm you with too many units or buildings and such.) The only downside to the scenario was the lack of any accessible copper or iron until fairly late in the game, which made it quite difficult to capture cities early one.

The dragon is killable. In my first (and only) attempt the dragon died after razing one of my cities and perpetually attacking one of my cities. A few mammoth riders were able to take it down combined with barrages from the archers within the cities.

I gave peace to Char* (the blue civ). The dragon attacked his city (the northernmost of friendly cities) and I put 2 longbow and 4 mammoths in the city (the AI had some units there). The dragon killed 1 unit every turn, but rventually, the dragon was at 5str, and I killed him.

Don't forget to gift your ally techs and extra resources...

EDIT: someone told me they traded tech with their ally, so you might want to gear your gifts towards this end.
