the sprite flashing occurs in relation to yield icons (I believe) and is exacerbated when a UI mod is used that overlays sprites near them.
This occurs on a beefy macbook pro with the integrated AMD Radeon Pro 5500M as well as the discrete
Intel UHD Graphics 630

there is also a third case I wasn't able to readily reproduce... the flash occurred without CSUI and in two different spots at once (that seemed to be associated with the bottom of hectares instead of yield icons
