Stairway to Heaven

Good work BSmith :D

Wanna know a funny story johnhughtom? We didn't scan you at all, I was just flailing at my imminent lynch and I decided to try and push the lynch towards you, who had started the ball rolling on me iirc, and I thought the only way of possibly getting you lynched was to accuse you of being Lucifer. It was only after my lynch that we realised it actually did make sense. And DaveShack's behaviour had become unusual as well.

Well played, BSmith. I have to say, I was leaning towards it being you until Sam started acting incredibly scummy. That ploy on the DaveShack vote was sheer brilliance. I never thought you would ever try something like that if you were mafia.

Although the town sucks for mindlessly going after Martin and Mat like that, just because the cult told you to. Seriously, guys? :p

The mafia and cult came this close to completely destroying each other.

  • John scans robbiecon as mafia, leads a bandwagon to lynch him.
  • Kennigit is killed by two cultists.
  • Mafia randomly decide John is Lucifer and kill him.
  • Mafia scan, kill, and lynch the remaining cult.

Didn't make a lot of sense at the time, still doesn't, but it certainly worked for you! :D

Though DaveShack was lynched for behaviour as a townie, adding even more lols to the proceedings..

Good game mafia. I had a niggling feeling about bsmith, but Sam was just too scummy.

I feel a bit sorry for the cult though.

I also feel annoyed that Martin got me killed, when I had no votes on me. Oh well.

A scan that allowed me to lead a lynch that forced the only pro-town role to reveal, a scan that revealed robbie allowing me to lead a lynch, a scan that killed off another scum? We had good and bad luck in the game, the only real kicker was c_h dying the phase I attempted to recruit him, had we got that conversion I think it would have been a very different game. The DaveShack conversion was a poor pick, if we'd gone with someone else we would have had a chance. Bad decisions as much as bad luck really. I think there were too few townies really making the effort, which handed the scum victory. Choxorn put up a good fight, and you woke up later in the game (though it's completely understandable why you weren't quite as focused early on) but apart from that it seemed to be me bringing most cases up. The ease with which I engineered the JoanK and robbiecon bandwagons was quite scary.

:sheep: = town loss.

Five people not voting, three points from them, and only a one-point difference between BSmith and his victory. Get active, you lot!!!!

I was pretty disappointed to get randomly tagged for a lynch like that, on the morning after being converted. Was looking forward to experiencing the cult role.

The dead activity made it harder for me to get into the game than normal. It was an entertaining read, but much harder to analyze.

Yeah, pretty disappointing.

I was looking forward to having you in the cult, probably why I just agreed to the conversion without really thinking about it.

I found the dead voting mechanics rather off putting too. Seemed strange to have a say on the lynch when my faction has already been eliminated and I can't win.

Which was one of the reasons why I wanted you in Hell. Basically you were allowed to run amok and mess with people's minds when none of you could be revived.

I considered not participating when the Cult was dead, as I thought it would be the right thing to do in terms of gameplay. Zack spent a lot of time putting the game together and hosting though, and I do like to play a role the way the host intended. So, rock and hard place. Not criticising you, Zacky boy, just never been in that position before, felt slightly alien, and I don't think I'd like it if I was town and a dead cult was fouling up the votes with their mind-****ing. It was a heck of a lot of fun though :D

Well, you followed the spirit of the role of course, to cause as much damage as possible.

Well, don't worry. The salvation points and dead-voting was a pain in the ass to take care of. They're not making a return in any game I host.

Are you going to post the night actions, specifically on what nights the cult tried to recruit people?

How were salvation points determined?
Voting for your enemies, converting targets, voting, being active, lynching enemies, killing enemies, protecting friends, etc. got you positive points (varying scale, using decimals as necessary).

Self-voting, inactivity, failure to vote, failing to convert, failing to kill, protecting enemies, being lynched (not for vanilla townies), bandwagonning, etc. got you negative points (varying scale, using decimals as necessary).

EDIT:

Are you going to post the night actions, specifically on what nights the cult tried to recruit people?
You can read through the Cult QT. I only kept track of current night actions in the spreadsheet I used for the game.
