Stalker Call of Pripyat Blind Let's Play

Good luck, I'll be following this.
EDIT - Ick. You're using Complete? I'd go with the regular game, and then switch to Misery after you get used to it.

my least favourite of the 3. you just get dropped with no info what so ever. And plain slideshow instead of a clip as intro....

Still made a good choice with the complete mod, i used it in SoC and CS. Might check out your video later

This game was gifted to me by a subscriber because he wanted to see me play it. He suggested I use the Complete mod.

The Complete mod makes Pripyat significantly easier. Should just play regular CoP.

@Scheva - Pripyat is my second favorite of the series; you're not "dropped in without any information," you're given a clear goal (investigate the helicopters), combined with better gameplay, mechanics, and AI improvements, makes it superb and far superior to that bastard child, Clear Sky. The only reason it isn't my favorite is because it isn't Shadow of Chernobyl.

yeah but thats it. after the mission of getting the artefact in the ship, you are left on your own. ou can do missions, but you dont know if they are suitable for low gear, or missions that require more advanced gear cause you're outnumbered or the radiation is skyhigh or so. just nothing.

At least in CS and SoC you get main missions that followed each other, and it was clear what the sidequests are

I am having fun with it so far. The game is a little laggy for me with FRAPS running so it is harder to kill stuff anyway.

I experience stutters every now and again, as well.

The mission to retrieve the half-artifact is a side quest. All of the quests available to you in Zaton can be done with nothing more than your starting AK, anyways (though you can pick up a VSS Vintorez in the Burnt Farmstead, so why stick with it?) Getting caps is so laughably easy in Call of Pripyat that there is no reason that you shouldn't outfit yourself with top of the line equipment from Nimble as soon as you can. You get, on average, 5000RU an artifact and normally two artifacts per anomaly field, and those get reset with emissions that happen once or twice a day. You can pull, basically, 60,000-100,000 RU out of thin air over the course of a few hours play. There is only one quest in Zaton that you might require more advanced gear for - the mercenaries in the waste purification plant, but even that is easy if it's dark out and you're smart.

My Call of Pripyat had some random bug where my save files became corrupted (or something) on the way to Pripyat and it would literally crash every single time I had to load an area. Apparently the only way to fix the bug was the reinstall everything and hope it didn't happen again. It's a shame, I really liked the game but I just don't want to start it over again.

Kind of irrelevant, just hope it doesn't happen to you.

I hate it when that happens. I remember Final Fantasy 7 on PS1. I was in the middle of disk 3 when my memory card died. I had to buy another but I lost every save of every game I had. It was a generic memory card. After that incident I swore to never buy any memory cards unless they were official ones made by the game system manufacturer.
