Early Warp, Warp 5, Modern Warp, and Transwarp. The Borg were heavly handicapped in the Early Era....but achieved Transwarp before the Transwarp era. We also had the map made using water, so the ships could only go so far depending on the engines.

We had 6 seperate tech trees made, encampassing all 4 eras. About 25-30 techs per race. And anywhere from 10-15 ships per race. Although the Borg only had 8 I think....most of which were cube and sphere variants.

Unfortunately....I can not find all my sheets, and I fear they may have been thrown out this fall, but if you want, I'm sure we can recreate these trees and units.

So does anyone want me to do it?

Edit: Ahh...couldn't find the sheets, but I found a spreadsheet with all the techs. :) Now...lets see if I cans find the units.

Hmm, maybe we can find other names for the eras (Exploration era, expansion era, empire era, galactic era ? )
Especially because I think federation will use slipstream technology in future, not trans warp.

Techtrees: We need a discussion about that. My idea: one big common tech tree with one smaller civ-specific tech tree for each race

Units: I think we should start making a list of ships we want to use. Tommorow I will take a look into BotF and Armada, and write down lists for Humans/UfoP, Klingons, Romulans, Borg, Ferengi and Cardassians. Whoever got other source can make a list too and later we decide which ships we want and put all in one list

I think what you've got are fine. We may need more if we decide to have other major categories.

As far as techs go, I was thinking that each civ should have at least two techs that no other civ can research (techs that don't show up on the tree). One tech would be government specific, the other tech would provide a special or very early advancement. For instance, the Borg (hey you know I'm stuck on them :borg: :) ) would have the techs "Hive Mentality" and "Assimilation Theory". Hive Mentality would provide the Borg with their government. Assimilation Theory would allow units that can enslave and it would give a boost to worker production (to represent the unseen minature minions being assimilated and put to work in the dilithium mines or wherever)

I don't really know how seperate tech trees work, but I suggest being careful when making civ-specific trees. I just got done playing one of the C3C conquest scenarios and there was a seperate tech tree that I was not supposed to research. When I was done researching the tree that I was "attached" to, the game let me go back to the begining and research the techs that i was not allowed to research.... Could there be a way around that particular type of thing from happening in our techtree?

Tzar Sasha and I are having a question about the unit sizes for the StarTrek Mod.

I have two proposals for the sizes, as reference the original Battleship of Civ3 has a length of 136 pixel. The Super Battleship is not shown in the picture!

List A:
  1. Shuttle 40-45 pixel
  2. Scout 60-65 pixel
  3. Crusier 80-85 pixel
  4. Battleship 100-105
  5. Super Battleship 150-155 pixel
List B:
    1. Shuttle 40-45 pixel
    2. Scout 60-65 pixel
    3. Crusier 100-105 pixel
    4. Battleship 130-135
    5. Super Battleship 150-155 pixel
What are you thinking about this?
      .

i would think B

but that's just me (the bigger the better :D )

I worked on the buildings list, added a few, changed some, and removed one. I will attach the new version.

I want to give every race a civ-specific city improvement, but I just got 3 yet.... If you got any ideas, post please ;)

New list:

Ok, I made that list of possible units (just a few...). Mostly units from BotF and a few from Armada. Any suggestions and critic are welcome

I made the borg cube a troop transport cuz it can carry at least 10000 drones. (We won't make it that many troops I hope)

Borg Cube a Troop transport? Sorry, I don't like that idea. I think it's better to give some (or all?) of the borg units a little transport capacity. I don't think they would use seperate transports...

I think the akira is supposed to be some form of shuttle carrier, and if not a carrier then an attack cruiser since its supposed to haev something like 15 torpedo tubes, and the steamrunner should probably be a light escort since its far less powerful than an akira or defiant

My comments.

Units
UfoP/Humans
The Oberth isn't a scout...it's a science ship. The Intrepid Class is a scout class.
You forgot the Prometheus. Which would definitely be a battleship.

Romulans

Klingons
You could use the Regency too. It was a HUGE ship that was used in the Mirror universe.

Cardassians
You could use Dreadnought....but ehhh...

Ferengi

Borg
There is also that experimental transwarp ship in TNG. You can include that too.

We'd have to make extremely powerful though. Just in case you've never seen the episode of Voyager called Dreadnought, it's extremely advanced and capable of a lot.

Time for me to pitch in my two cents. (I'd also like to help, even though I have no skills at creating units or the like)

Star Trek History is typically divided into eras as it is. For lack of better terms, they are: ENT Era, TOS Era, TNG Era, and Post-TNG Era

Therefore, if we were to divide the federation units into those eras, we'd get:

ENT
-"Phoenix Type"
-"Conestoga Type"
-DY-100 Class
-DY-500 Class
-"Ring Ship"
-"Intrepid Type"
-J Class
-Y Class
-Friendship Class
-NX Class
-NX Shuttlepod

TOS
-Daedelus Class
-Constitution Class
-Constellation Class
-Miranda Class
-Soyuz Class
-Ptolemy Class
-Saladin Class
-Sydney Class
-Galileo 5 Shuttlepod

TNG
-Constitution Refit (Enterprise) Class
-Ambassador Class
-Galaxy Class
-Nebula Class
-Oberth Class
-"Curry Type"
-Excelsior Class
-New Orleans Class
-Cheyenne Class
-Type 6 Shuttlepod
-Freedom Class
-Challenger Class
-Centaur Class
-Springfield Class

Post-TNG
-Akira Class
-Sovereign Class
-Intrepid Class
-Type 9 Shuttlepod
-Delta Flyer
-Danube Class Runabout
-Defiant Class
-Norway Class
-Saber Class
-Steamrunner Class
-Nova Class
-Olympic Class
-Prometheus Class

Now, that's a lot of ships, obviously. So you wouldn't use them all. But that's a fair-sized list to choose from.

Thx a lot. I think we'll probably use some of the more commonly named ships, ex. galaxy, excelsior, sovereign, intrepid, akira, etc.

Edit: That's a lot for the Feds. but we need to concentrate on the other civs... they wont have as many.

Well, let's see. Here's what we've seen on screen.

VULCANS (all ENT era, obviously)
"D'Kyr type" - Combat Cruiser
"D'Vahl type" - Transport
Surak Class - Combat/Explorer
Shuttle
Surveyor - Scout
"T'Plana Hath type" - Science Vessel

-D5 Tanker
-Raptor
-K'Toch Scout
TOS
-D7 Cruiser
-K't'inga

-Ship
TNG

-Sail Ship

-Galor Class
-Hideki Class Patrol
-Instrumented Probe

-Orbital defense platform

DOMINION (all Post-TNG)
-Jem'Hadar attack ship
-Jem'Hadar Battlecruiser

-Karemma Transport

BREEN (Again, cool but have only one Post-TNG ship)
-Cruiser

BORG (Not Era specific)

-Class-2 cube
-Class-4 tactical cube
-Class-1 sphere
-Class-2 sphere
-Scout

-Long Cell Ship
-Salvage Ship
-Shuttle
-Helix

XINDI (all ENT era)
-Cargo Shuttle

-Shuttle
-Tezra Class Fighter

THOLIAN (One ENT Era ship)
-Web Spinner

-Hunter ship
-Venatic class Hunter Ship
-Holo Decoy

KAZON (all post-TNG)
-Fighter
-Raider
-Predator Class
-Mothership
-Armored Torpedo

8472 (Assumedly not Era specific seeing as how they only have one, but Post-TNG just in case)
-Bioship

:borg:

That one is really really big :D Seems, you have to make the normal cube bigger too. (and I think the sphere needs some work on too, don't look as good as the 2 cubes...)

Yeah I forgot the Prometheus, tnx
I know that Oberth class ins't a real scout, but Intrepid isn't too. It's too good armed. I think Nova class or Oberth class science ships fit better into scout role of civ3, than deep space ships, like Intrepid class

Hmm, I don't like the idea of using Mirror universe ships...
And I have no idea what experimental ship you mean... seems I missed that one...
