Star Trek mod - The Next Generation!

Hi people, downloaded the mod but have no idea how to install the damn thing please help:blush: :blush: :blush: :blush: :blush:
 
Just put it in C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios and you'll find it in the scenarios menu in the game. ;)
 
bummer ! its says there is a file missing, Pedallion file or something along those lines but not a problem now I know how to do them I will try some others. thanks
 
Could that be Pediaicon? Everything should be there in the download...

Well now..........

I have spent a good part of Saturday as the Borg. Made myself the sole occupant of my corner of the galaxy. Even built a sizable force to invade the Alpha quadrant. Only to find that I could not cross the nebula. Could not find the Space Navigation tech to get through it. Gave up in frustration and went back to my Federation game. There I looked at the Tech. tree and found that I had already progressed past the Navigation tech. That is...I had gone past it, because it is not listed in the tech tree for the Borg. Instead of where the Tech bubble should be. There is just a blank spot and yea nothing happens if you click on it. I have also noticed that Astrometry tech is also missing. So did I uncover a glitch or did I just lose something in my game? Wondering if some of the others who have played the Borg. Have had same problem.

Nope, just a bug that escaped my attention... ;) I'll put an updated version in the first post.

I Played as Borg on my own version of STMod (El-Aurians [Guinan] instead of Xindi, Most small, unimportant civs turned off, units of time swiched to months [I tell you, I couldn't believe my eyes when my first Valient class was launched in ~2095!]) I conqered the El-Aurians early, and imeadiatly found the Sp 8742 or whatever (who, infuriatingly, killed 3 probes, 4 ground, and constantly fail to bombard Sector 001). I didn't try to get out of my nebula yet, but I noticed the same thing as you.

Sugjestion; make a hole in the nebula near the top, with a corridor leading out through it.
EDIT: This could explain how Voyager got stuck in the Delta Quadrant, too.

On another note: As the federation, I discovered Astrometry, which you say gives safe passage over space, but my ships 'died' once the got out there. Now granted, they were older ships.

Now I'm not trying to put extra stress on you, I'm just saying where you need to improve the game.
 
The Borg CAN cross the nebula at some point. I know because I've assimilated about a fifth of the Alpha Quadrant so far. It's not too far up the tech tree, but I'm not sure at what point it is possible.
 
Thanks guys for your suggestions, but at this moment I have no time at all to do anything on this or any other mod. :(
 
then....
can you release your units you've made over the years? I am planning a Star Wars MEETS Star Trek mod where ships are set as land units, star terrain is the only terrain able to support 'cities' (systems), planets are pre-placed irrigation tiles giving food, and the death star is the only ship capable of pillaging terrain improvements.

But at the moment, the only star trek fleet that is fleshed out at all is the federation, and its difficult to get motivated...and sadly I can't make units. I promise I'll release it if it gets done!

I could consider releasing some Fed ships, depending on which ones you want. See my unit preview tread for what I have in store.
Personally I don't really like that space terrain. I prefer Vaduz' one...
 
I sent you a PM as I don't want to hijack your mod thread without having starting one of my own. To each their own on the choice of terrain set I suppose!

Has anybody changed the small map, so that more civs in correct location will be in it. I hate slow loading games, and i have no chance on my computer playing the xxl map, but i like the diversity of species.
 
I'm working on redoing the map, doing things like adjusting system locations, adding/taking away planets, ect. Once I'm done I'll see what I can do as far as smaller maps go.

Flamand...how far have you come in the mod, and how far do you have to go?

I'm in the middle of a couple of things I need to do in RL, and that might take a while. So it might be a while...

nice 8) though this mod gets boring after awhile
There are plenty of other mods out there...
