I'de like to have some of your buttons for techs while I'm revising the tech tree.

Maybe it should just increase military unit production for that planet, that way no matter who builds it, they can get some use out of it8-)

Other wonder ideas:

Galactic Senate (Required for Diplomatic Victory, I can't understand why the Senate is a seperate Civ when it was the Old Republic's ruling body:-x)

The Chiss Library (research bonus?)

Caridan Naval Academy (sort of West-Point like?)

The Transitory Mists (defense bonus?)

Outbound Flight Project (movement bonus for ships, a la circumnavigation)

the Tafanda Bay (main Ithorian herd ship, possible health bonus?)

I'm drawing blanks otherwise, and I know I shouldn't lol
 
I kind of agree with you DonStamos. Maybe we should rename the Senate to the Old Republic, while the Old Republic (from Kotor) should be renamed to the Ancient Republic or Ancient Old Republic. Adding the Galactic Senate as a wonder for a Diplomatic Victory makes alot of sense. The Outbound Flight Project would be cool too.

Killamike718 - the angle between an X-wing's S-foils is 60 degrees. Try to make the engines and blasters (where they attach to the wing) more circular. Other than that it looks really good.

Civmansam - I've been making buttons (multiple versions so you can pick and choose which ones you want best). I'll upload some later.

as far as wonders go, how about the Jedi Temple and Byss as Light and dark side (respectively) holy city wonders?
another wonder might be the Grand Army of the Republic ( barracks in every city), the Death Star (allows creation of nukes), and Imperial Academy ( the pentagon)

oh and one more, Mos Eisely Spaceport ( the colossus/ boosted experience for air units, or whatever the fighters end up being)

ok one more the Kessel Run increases luxury output/great person points, not sure what great person though
 
When we do the buildings we are going to have academies you can build in cities (like temples or barracks I guess). The Death Star and Star Forge will be wonders.

The Kessel Run could replace Circumnavigating the world maybe.
 
Just a helpful suggestion guys, if its possible could you create that if you are under a democracy a civil war could occur if too much unrest occurs. EX. Say 5 of your planets are rioting those 5 planets could under a x% chance band together and break away from you. If your the Old Republic they would for the CIS or some other faction IE the Trade Federation. This is just a thought guys. And to add to your wonders list- Maw Instalation...X% increase in research, Echo Base....like the great wall, Geonosis droid factory...X% manufacturing increase, Smuggler's Alliance....East Asia Trading Company, Spaarti Cloning Cylinders....Population increase. New Republic Fleet Academy....Produces fleet commanders every X turns. Those are just some Ideas, and if ya need more Info and ideas heres a place for ya http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page . You could use the Sith/Jedi Halocron as a wonder. I'll check into the exact name. I have it in a book, someplace. That coul, actually, be a national wonder too... *shrugs*

No, no...Do away with space victory. How do you explain space vehicles running in space without building the ship to Alpha Centauri? LOL In truth, I would hate to see that be the end, why? Because I would love for it to act like the planet killer it is. :D :satan: Come on, moving it around and blowing up entire planets would be fun. ;)
 
Not if you make it a World Wonder and have it available for anyone to build;-)

I like the suggestion for the Maw Installation, I couldn't think of anything it could actually do. Another Wonder idea is the Bothan Intelligence Network, it could increase the effectiveness of spy units. The Galaxy Gun could be the new Manhattan Project; it would allow you to build hyperspace missiles which would work kinda like nukes.

Oh and the Jedi/Sith thing indeed a Holocron. I don't think it could realistically be used as a religious building though:

A holocron was a crystal lattice (often cubical and sized to be held in one hand) in which the Jedi of old stored phenomenal quantities of data. Holocrons usually contained an interactive holographic recreation of their creator, who served as a guide to the information stored within it. The technology to make them was nearly lost after the Great Jedi Purge. Surviving holocrons contained information including Jedi techniques, blueprints of ancient starships, and historical information about the universe; as a result, they were quite valuable. Usually, only Force-sensitive users could access a holocron. Sith Holocrons also existed, usually taking the form of a pyramid.

Okay, first off let me say that I am eagerly following the development of this mod. Love Star Wars, love the background. That said, you guys are all doing just a great job so far! I'll try and brainstorm up some ideas here and there about what might be addable or whatnot.

As for the backgrounds... I think the planet looks better for fighters, but deep space might be a bit more fitting for the capital ships. Just my thoughts :p
 
please clarify how you plan to implement religions

I still think Light Force, Dark Force, and native religions is the best
direction to go even if Lucas never mentioned any native religions

the Death Star should be linked in some way to the Dark Force religion

similarly, a wonder of comparable value to the Death Star should be linked
to the other religions in the game

waiting for next version of the SW mod since religion plays no part in
the current one (none are discovered until after Fusion at the end of
the Tech Tree)

that conquest isn't everything, how can such a civ be designed so that
it has any chance of winning? by trading alone? how would it defend itself
against outer space attack?

The Death Star will be a wonder that anyone can build. We haven't discussed what abilities or bonuses it will have. If it was a "super unit" that could destroy planetsit would be too unbalanced.

Joelwest - as far as I know seperate maps in 1 game aren't possible.

Here's what I can think of for religions, but shrines is a different story, the ones I will suggest will be in parenthesis.

Light Side (Jedi Praxeum or Jedi Temple but if lesser religious buildings are going to be used, then go with Praxeum to keep from getting confused)

Dark Side (Tomb of Freedon Nadd - several notable dark Jedi had journeyed there for "enlightenment")

The Embrace of Pain or the True Way (the Vong religion, I prefer the first name since the second is the Vong's own term, dunno what the shrine would be)

The Cosmic Balance (from the Truce at Bakura, dunno bout the shrine)

the Ithorian religion (dunno bout shrine)

Xi Char (highly technological, dunno bout shrine)
