I have a really bad problem. I've recently gotten a 22 inch monitor, and its runs at 1600x1050 pixels. Starcraft doesn't seem to support this setting, but my screen looks even worse in a lower resolution. Any idea on how to fix this?

And any tips on winning Diplomacy Infinity?

I don't think there is a way to fix this with an LCD. LCD are made to look great at one resolution. If you go lower than that, you'll get a blurry image. Someone more experienced can probably explain why. I always keep a CRT around when I need to play archaic games.

You can play it in window mode ...

If you're using a CRT, you can use the CRT buttons and knobs on the front of your monitor to make the displayed region on your screen smaller. Well, that'll make the image look better, but it sort of defeats the purpose of having such a large monitor.
