Status and "To Do" List

A problem. When I load the mod, none of the new civs are playable. They're in the modules folder but not in the game itself. What's going on here?

I can only speculate on the possible causes:

- you have not loaded the mod
- you have installed it in CustomAssets
- you have changed the mod folder name "CIV Gold"

~Hiram.

Also, make sure you set Enable Modular Loading = 1 in the CIV4Config.ini file in the BtS directory.

Since BTS 3.13 patch this is not needed anymore. You don't have to have Modular Loading enabled in your My Games folder. Just make sure that it is enabled in CIV Gold.ini in Mods/Civ Gold/ (which is part of the download).

For this reason I wondered if the mod folder name was renamed, because then a new ini gets generated on startup, which has modular loading on 0 by default.

Sweet. Okay, I'll send you some names and some pics, and you can see what you want to do from there.

I'll PM you in about 10 minutes.

You should post the list in the forum (with picture), so I can have a look when I'll have nothing to do (well, that unfrequent, but during chrstmas holyday period, it may happen) and that I am willing to do one leader (that is more frequent;) )

Good idea. I'll put a "to list" here and link in the graphics thread.

Not sure if this is the correct thread, but is there any prognosis on when a 1st version of CIV Gold 4.0 will be uploaded? (I'm asking as I plan updates on scenarios plus a CIV Gold BTS version of 1000 BC for BTS including several CIV Gold civs/leaders.):confused:

Originally we planned 4.0 release on 1 february.

CIV Gold does not have a good track record when it comes to setting release dates, so I would say before march, but don't hold me to it.

It seems to me the CIV Gold team has to decide which LH to include when. (Updated versions can include new LHs, can they not?)

Nothing major though, right? (You seem to have exhausted Human history's supply of civilizations:lol: )

It seems that way right now, let me tell you! ;) I think future add-ons might include civ-specific content like great people or UU names. We have a lot of that info already but we're focusing on getting the civs right first.

@ Wyz_sub10:

Just tried clicking your link Various civs and leaderheads and it sent me to My files:confused: (I was trying to check the LHs available so far.)

Will there be updates of existing LHs in CIV Gold 4.0? I'm asking because I've been using several in my scenarios, but some are less than perfect (notably the eye-white of Mindaugas of Lithuania, Niall and Canute look a bit off).:cooool:

Just wondering,

(Getting no reply, posting again:) Will there be a Byzantine civ in CIV Gold BTS 4.0? (Main reason I'm asking is the Cataphract seems way overpowered when used in medieval historical scenarios, making Byzantium virtually unbeatable.);)

@Wyz_sub10:

Update your signature link for Various Civs and Leaderheads to http://forums.civfanatics.com/member.php?u=5996

@JLNijholt:

We try to update leaderheads when they are not perfect, although this does not have the highest priority.

Will there be a Byzantine civ in CIV Gold BTS 4.0? I guess you are asking if there will be a different Byzantine and the answer is no. All the default BTS civs remain unchanged (except Native America). We will only add some leaderheads for the default civs.

If you are looking for balance in your scenario, then perhaps you can weaken the Byzantine in another way (take away resources, less cities for less production, etc.)

Thx! (Though I sense some indifference in the approach to include LHs, but not ensuring they actually look good...):twitch:

I was asking about the Byzantines because I'm planning a new Crusades scenario, not a mod. (In my previous releases I already handicapped Byzantium precisely because of their overpowered UU.)
