Is it just me or does this seem a little too easy? There's basicaly no consequences to this action, sure you get -60 attitude but it degrades so fast it's not even worth thinking about. You can even declare peace on the same turn you steal the worker!

Any thoughts, or am I missing something that might outweigh the benefit from this?

why not just build other worker, it only takes three turns lol in a good city.

Well think about it, you can get workers for free without having to waste those 3 turns each time you want a worker, also early game they take alot longer than 3 turns, not to mention it depends on what game length you play.

The only thing you need to be carefull of is if a civ is protecting the workers

I did this in my first game just now, with the additional benefit of leaving my Hoplite (Greece) just next to the city, gaining massive amounts of XP as it heals 2 HP each turn whilst receiving only 1 HP in damage from the city --> 2 XP per turn, plus 5 XP every 3 turns or so when I attack with near-full health..

the problem is that if you keep declaring on too many city states, none of the empires will be willing to work with you. I played one game where i decided to just annex all the local city states instead of being nice, and after i conquered the 3rd one they entire world declared war on me.

Yea, I finished up a multiplayer game in which this happened last night. For us, all it took was two. A buddy of mine decided to take over Vienna early on because he is fond of small log-shaped meatstuff. Some hundred turns later, the other whom I was playing with decided it liked the location of Soule enough to throw a couple of units at it. The moment he declared war, 8-10 other city-states formed an anti-bully alliance and declared was right back on us. For the remainder of the game they stayed at war with us and no other Civ would dare cooperate with us for fear of being looked upon as having helped us.

Hardly worth a free worker or two if you ask me.

Fun fact: If you queue up an order to donate gold to a city-state while waiting for other players to end their turn, you will give them that gold promptly at the beginning of the next turn, even if they are in a state of "will never make peace."

Hmm, I havn't had that happen Fascion, but then again, I've only been stealing their workers, havn't actualy gone to exterminate the city states :D
