Steam getting ridiculous!

Seems like every few hours steam goes offline and kicks people form lobby in Civ. The weekends are even worse, most of the day the steam was down. This is crazy crap. If they can't keep the network up while maintenance I don't know how much longer they can be in business. I just looked at their 'current users online ' graph. It showed a drop from 5 mill to 4 mil people in 5 mins. What a service- kicks out 1,000,000 people on the weekend when they got finally time to play.

Today's maintenance was unplanned; some power issue last night to the UPS and their servers didn't come back up correctly.

Yea, a friend of mine was talking about the big steam drop today. It happens too often. I don't feel Gamespy was this buggy.
