I don't know how you did that but terrains are grouped too much, making the map unplayable at the moment (I have tried 7 times so it is not a random pb).

Only grasslands, only hills or only forests on too large areas.
How did u do that BTW ?

EDIT : it was MY fault (probably), Steh's Mod is really playable.

steph where is the Unit_32.pcx file located? It usually is in the units folder, but I cant find it.

Steph/Art/Units folder. But as this folder starts to be quite big, it can be missed.

Now I looked trhough it 6 times, and have done a search on it. I still cant see it. I know it does´nt make sence, because the units are still showing up correctly in the build queue. Could you post the file, I want to steal some of the pics;)?

:scan: Mr Yoda Power, your crime has been reported.
You are trying to get the unit32 file without downloading the 87 Mb of Steph's mod.

But in order to get it, you must download the mod, and beat the computer at the hardest level with ALL the available civs. Only then will the file be revelead to you.

:D

I can assure you it's in the zip, I've checked it.

As I'm a nice guy, I've uploaded it to the server, but it's hidden somewhere.

Did I forgot these guys?

When I'm finished (completly) with the 2d era, I guess, lot of people will want to try the american....

They should have almost as many units as the other civ, with only flavour units.

They did´nt have white backgrounds, I think you said you did´nt know how to make those backgrounds, did´nt you?

Hi, I eventually succeeded in playing your mod.

So it was not a pb with your mod but probably of some wild preferences of mine / of Civ3 by itself ;)
(but to start on an average island that is only hills or only jungle, you must admit it did not look too good.

1/ no pb with missing stuff AFAIK (impressive since you added so much). But I only played till 0BC/AD (:p ).

2/ The tech tree is difficult to understand if you don't have the printed version nearby (but I know how tough it was to fit everything on one screen).

3/ It goes a bit quickly, especially when you have tons of new units all the time. I played as the Arabs, built (for mounted) two chariots then tried to build a camel rider but found myself with Ansar instead (in 300 BC !). So you don't have enough time to finish a unit before the new version is available.

4/ About speed again. Maybe it is because of the long tech tree but I did not expect to reach Medieval techs in 500 BC).

5/ A few things have pbs (cosmetic):
- some pedia texts (Paper for instance)
- some techs are partly hidden (chivalry) behind others
- screen pb for Industrial and Modern Eras, one tech appears wildly on the top left corner.

Haven't finished (will it crash after the first two eras) but overall an impressive work.

:goodjob:

Yes, that's something I fear. I could slow the tech race by increasing their cost, but then with the speed of units you would discover the wole map in the ancient era :(

Then I should reduce the lenght of turns.

The pb is some icons are automatically added when I add some units, so the tech trees cannot be finalized until all the units are.
For Industrial and Modern, I didn't try to make the tech tree yet.

It should not crasj, every need file should be there. However, you will not have the flavour units, and some parts like the tech trees or the civilopedia are unfinished

I really love this MOD, but I have a question.

If every unit costs a population point to simulate that person leaving the city (a great idea, by the way), I think you should bring the settler population cost down to one. If you are just doing it to decrease the speed of the game, it's fine as is.

Can't wait for the 3rd era!

Not all units cost one population point. Some cost none (artillery), some cost 1 (ships, aircraft, armor cavalry, archer) and some cost 2 (infantry units starting at the 2nd era).

The settlers will remain at a cost of 2, and may even go up to 3, to limit early expansion.

Maybe not enough buildings to... well, build at the beginning. That leads to a lot of warriors and settlers. But maybe it was intended so to allow for large (even if not powerful) armies from early ages...

Er.. No, with increased maintenance cost and need to use population to build army, armies are supposed not to be to big.

I do have a pb with buildings. I know quite well which units to add, but I don't have that many ideas for building. So if you have some... Beside, I have plenty of graphics for units, but not for buildings.

Well this is a shot in the dark (as usual :) ). I've posted some building graphics (in my sig). Check those for ideas. ;)
Or post where you want the new buildings (in time/the tech tree), and I might come with some ideas.

I know your buildings gfx. My main pb is : what kind of new buildings can I had? With a real use (ie different from what exist)?

I am playing a longer game as the Romans.

Haven't checked in the editor but could not build Legionaries (got Imperial ones directly).
Secondly : no upgrades for mirmillon --> Pikeman or even warriors to higher...
It worked for the Arabs so it might be you forgot for the Romans (or it is not supposed to work that way).
