Does my religion balance out the army-weakening effects of my govt?

@amen, yes it does, but your government isnt that weak anyway, later on it would be but at this stage it is still a very warrior based society so the effects are negligible.

Tribe: Toku
Ruler (Player): Sadi Rou
Government: The Sadi is the sole ruler forever. He choose the next Sadi to be trained.
Religion: Sadimism
Economy: Stable
Armed Forces: 50 warriors (stone weapons)
Starting Location: doesn't realy matter... prefer on a mountain top, the highest one.
Background:

The Toku tribe is small. They are wariars in blood. Their leader is the Sadi. Ones a Sadi ruled 10 years he must choose the next Sadi that must not be older than 6 years old. Ones the new Sadi is chosen he begin training until he is 22 years old. Than he must fight a dual against the older Sadi, to the death, and the winner will be Sadi for 10 years. Anyone can claim to be Sadi but must a dual to death with the current Sadi. Sadimism, the religion is not a very developed one. They have no god but the Sadi himself wich is god of war for the tribe of war. The Toku train in any way of Fighting as time goes and always try to go for better weopnse. They are not cultural or anything else and they are a tribe in their own image. They do not expand or have any need for economy. All tribe members must sign for the army from age 4. Women and men are fully equal and a woman can control the tribe as Sadi. The Sadi have no peace or trade, they fight anyone who enter their lands and kill it. They could be hired as hitman or merceneries because they always look for a good battle.

OK. Thanks for all the interest. I will finish updating everything which has come in up to now then go awol until tomorrow. I may update tomorrow morning or tomorrow evening, I am unsure because Im visiting my great-grandma, but it will be tomorrow definitely.

@erez i need the religion template (apologies if you post it while im writing this).

@all. sorry if this confuses, but the culture option in the religion starts at negligible for everyone because you've only just started building towns, never mind culture so if you lose the 'intensive' or 'strong' you know why ;-)

ahhh, okay, no prob :)

if your great ones so compassionate, theres no such thing as infedels, as a compassionate deity would look at the greater actions ones life, rather then who.what they worshiped :p

pffft ok! ARRG not like you can't understand it from the country

Name: Sadimism
Head: sadi
Attitude to War: War is LIFE
Belief about God(s): Gods does not matter. Sadi is the god of war and war we shall do!
Belief about Afterlife: You are just reborn.
Heretics: Religion does not matter only war does.
Control over people: Intense - Sadi controls all.
Religious Center: Aya, Toku
Culture: None

if your great ones so compassionate, theres no such thing as infedels, as a compassionate deity would look at the greater actions ones life, rather then who.what they worshiped

He is only compassionate to those that would serve him, and the only true way to acheive enlightenment is through his words in the scriptures.. He's hard to please..

Note: This is just a NES, i used Islam as the base to provide a strong and interesting culture, no need to turn it into a religious debate ;)

Oh great. I gotta buncha marauding jihadists as neighbors.:p;)

ME: C'mon honey, let's go meet the new neighbors!

*walks up to door with pie*

JIHADISTS: Who is it?

ME: We're the neighbors.:)

JIHADISTS: What's in the pie?

ME: Pumpkin.:)

*JIHADISTS whisper among themselves*

JIHADIST 1: We gotta find some reason to declare Jihad upon them.

JIHADISTS: Uh....Hmm...

JIHDAIST 1: C'mon, guys! Think of something!

JIHADIST 2: I don't like pumpkins.

JIHADIST 1: Perfect! JIHAD!!!

no prob

*filler because posts have a 10 letter requirement*

Government: Theological Monarchy (used by Mohadeen Khalifah)
Benefits include greater happiness with state and religion (they agree on issues so no divided loyalties) and increased patriotism, unfortunately learning is repressed and the economy has less vitality.

Learning is generally repressed in theological monarchies but look at the early arab caliphates, they were very technologically advanced, although thats probably from their extensive trade with the far east and indians rather than Islam itself..

just my two cents.

@panda, i know, i have to do govs/religions then go back to players so i can see what effect govs/religions have on the stats, dont worry

oh, okay. Gotcha :goodjob:

JIHADIST 2: I don't like pumpkins.

He is a true believer, pumpkins are the food of heretics and demons

@panda if you want to suggest some advantages/disadvantages you're welcome to, but they have to balance out :) i thought increased patriotism and happiness since religion and state are as one was fitting.

Anyway, im forgetting things now like your government, and completely left erez off (unintentional :) so those are probably stats, i will look again in morning when i can think easier and change anything needing changing, then post update, i'll try to do it in the morning (my morning GMT) so you have all day to post orders.

@north king. yes you can, you have to have people to worship so you can try to convert an NPC (will appear in a couple of turns) or try to convert someone else's people but they might not ppreciate that and try to kill you :)

nn all.

unfortunately, there is less patriotism as the people have the ability to depose the figurehead of their empire

I must protest this. In America, the Prez can be deposed, and us Americans are some of the most patriotic you'll ever see!

thats because we can vote him in; it wouldnt look good if we had to depose the same person we voted in (hence why impeachment is so rare, and why evewn when it is carried out, it dosent often lead to a president loosign thier position)
