International Football Association

The IFA is the world footballing governing body. It deals with the fixtures and results for all international competitions and friendly's. The IFA is just around for something extra to enjoy when StJNES IV slows down or things are a bit more peaceful in the StJNES IV world

I hope no-one will take this overly seriously. The results are based on the nations I think would have the most interest in Football as a sport and has the largest number playing it and/or the best facilities.

The World Cup
The World Cup is held every four years from the year 1854 onwards. The next World Cup will be held in 1858 in Germany, the winner's in 1854.
The IFA Committee will hold a vote after every World Cup to decide on the next host.
Current candidates being looked at are Prussia, Spain, Britain, Sinhala and Madagascar. Any other nations who would like to host the Competition must apply to the IFA. (Post in the thread or PM me

)

World Cup Qualifiers
There are 16 places available in the World Cup for teams. There are are going to be at least 6 European Teams in the competition, 1 Asian team, 3 African teams and 4 American & Pacifican teams.
14 teams are assured automatic qualification if they finish in the required positions in their section. Another 3 European teams and 1 African team will have a two-legged play-off in December to decide on the final 2 teams in the competition. The draw will be made once the final qualification results are in.

International Friendly's
Any countries wishing to have a friendly match must apply to the IFA (aka me) via PM. The results will then be posted here. There will be several dates available to nations to hold friendly matches and they will be listed.

I just basically picked every nation in StJNES for the groups. I've only missed two teams which were newly created after I had made up the groups and fixtures so they'll have to wait until next year to join.

I wouldn't expect it would cost a whole econonmy level to support a football team either, and the chances of them actually qualifying look very slim...

Announcement Concerning The American & Pacifican Qualifiers And The Asian Qaulifiers:

Pacifica will be removed from the American & Pacifican Qualification tournament and shall be replaced by the newly formed Canada. This is a result of the need to prevent any possible spread of the Pan-Pacifican Flu.

Regarding the other infected area, China, all Chinese home games will be played in empty stadiums with only match and team officials along with the teams themselves allowed at the grounds. No away supporters are allowed.

For Chinese away games no Chinese supporters will be allowed to travel with the Chinese team. Only Chinese players and officials will be allowed to travel.

These restrictions will stay in place until such a time when the dangers of the Pan-Pacifican Flu have been exterminated.
