Issue of granting Uruguay Commonwealth status is raised in the Popular Comissariat.
A Comissar from Uruguay has raised the issue of possible commonwealth status for his Russian Colonial Republic of Uruguay. The people of Uruguay are apparently chafing under the socialist system in place. Although they do love the liberties they have, they are much more republican in their political views. Some are even monarchistic, although apparently that is a small minority. The people of Quebec were recently subjected to a political survey on whichi goernment they would prefer to have. Results:
Electoral Constitutional Monarchy - the monarchs are elected by the people or the legislature and serve for specific terms and their real power is limited by the legislature. (4%)
Hereditary (traditional) Constitutional Monarchy - the monarchs are hereditary, serve for life, but their power is also limited by the legislature. (2%)
Absolute Monarchy - absolute, unquestioned power for monarchs, in effect a royal dictatorship like there was back in the day. (0%)
Socialist Republic - just like there is in BURR. (34%)
Fascist Republic - Fascist, just like Britain, Spain... (1%)
Democratic Republic - just like the Greater Russian Democratic Republic used to be. (19%)
Senatorial Republic - like Russia's First and Second Republics were. (39%)
Don't know or Don't care - don't know or don't care. (1%)
Obviously they prefer a Republic such as the First and Second Russian Republics.
Small political organizations have surfaced in Uruguay
Several small political organizations have been formed by Uruguayans, mainly students. They do not trouble the authorities, however, so their activity is allowed. They include:
1. The Uruguayan Brotherhood of the Uruguayan Orthodox Church. - mostly a religious organization. charity, hospital care, etc. prefer a government run by the Patriarch of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
2. The Uruguayan Alliance of Democracy - pro-Democracy. call for restoration of some more capitalism.
3. Continental Republican Youth of Uruguay - pro-Republic. call for the establishment of friendly, cooperative, peaceful Republics throughout the South American continent.
4. Social-Democrats of South America - youth group striving to perfect a new government that mixed capitalist democracy and liberal socialism together into "social-democracy". have sister groups in Russia (the Social-Democrats of Europe and Asia) and Quebec (The Social-Democrats of North America). supported by Mensheviks.
5. Uruguayan Labor Alliance - alliance of labor unions, supported actively by the Mensheviks.
Greco-Sumerian War ends after not as much bloodshed as Russians expected
The Greco-Sumerian War ended just as abruptly as it begun. Though some people did die, the Russian military experts expected the death toll to be at least 100,000. Apparently they exaggerated and/or were paranoid.
The Russian Eagle Legion, the official name of the BURR's new air force, has been comissioned by the Military Minister
The first 6 squadrons of the new Russian Eagle Legion has been comissioned in Kiev, Ukraine.
