Empire Of Scotland
The Empire of Scotland was victorious in its war against the Kuyper Confederation. They had been expelled from Britannia and the King was pleased.
Faith in the Monarchy had reached an all time high, and Scotland was one of the most powerful nations in the known world.
Also Scotland was not suffering the same kind of barbarian raids that the Europeans were, there were raids, by these pesky Vikings, they were becoming a bigger problem than he had anticipated.
Even the mighty Scot fleet could not prevent Viking incursions into scotland. The King decided to take the following measures to prevent the same kind of Empire divisions as on the continent.
A three layered defense system would be built in Edinburgh as follows: The walls of the Palace would be strengthened, making for the inner line of defense; A stone wall woulc be constructed around the city centre to make for the second line of defense; A third wall would be built to surround the outer city to act as the first line for the capital.
In other Major cities, a two layered system would be used, the Governors/Nobles House would have their stone walls reinforced as the same as the Kings Palace; and the cities themselves would have a stone wall built around them.
In minor cities, and towns, palisades would be built, three lines of wooded walls.
Also to assist in this measure a new unit would be trained. Specialised defensive archers would be trained. This new unit, called the Bowman, would be assigned to manning the city/town defenses.
Barbarian Age UU= Scot Bowman- A unit similar to a standard archer, armoured in copper plates allows for greater defense. Increased Defense, same attack as Archer.

-Build Defense System as featured above.
-Create New Unique Unit as Featured above.
-Increase Army
-Increase Navy
-Set Irregular, periodic patrols of the coasts of the island.
-Split Army into two, one part to defend the fortifications and cities/towns, the other to conduct irregular, periodic patrols of the countryside to deter barbarian raids.
-Build Centralised Markets in the major cities.

My orders always have been and always will be by priority. if there wasnt enough in my econ to cover the defenses AND the army then finished the defenses and NOT the army. Defenses were at top. PRIORITY 1
