stJNES8: Of Empires

To Mali:
From Songhai:
The great and benevolent King Sonni Ali bids greeting to his norther foes. For many long years our nations have been at war. We tire of this conflict, of the bloodshed. We wish to offer you a way out. We offer you peace at current borders, with a few other conditions. Firstly, that Songhai be granted the right to continue to recruit Malians as our Mercenaries. This is essential to the defense of the Kingdom, and also beneficial to the Malian economy, no? Secondly, Mali will expand no farther south than it already is. Thirdly, Mali will only trade with Songhai; but surely this is no problem, as we are the only two real nations in the world, and as this trade would be lucrative to us both? Do you agree?

Our two nations deserve to be one. Why don´t you join our nation so that we together will be stronger than anyone else!

Never! We will accept peace at current borders, but that is the only condition onwhich we can agree upon.

Phoenicia is stubborn. At little cost we could gain a lot more than what we currently have. Let's stick it out for just a little bit longer. Send a messanger (AIM) when you can to discuss strategy.

To Scythia and Muscovy
From Roddyna

Dear Neighbors,

We (I, lol) still do not have an answer from either of you to our inquiery as to wheather you would be accepting of a road between our Capitols.
I have a proposal for the two of you. I propose that we connect our three capitols to eachother by roads. I propose that each of us builds the road to one of the others' capitols so that all 3 are connected together. For example i would build the road from my capitol to Muscovy's Capitol, Muscovy would build a road from his Capitol to Scythia's Capitol, and Scythia would build a road from his capitol to mine.
Thereby all three of us only build 1 road each, but are directly connected to both the other nations. This will allow trade between our nations to flourish, and enrich all of us.
I ancsiously await your answers, as i have road builders standing by now to know if they should start the road.

House of Roddy - Roddy VII
Roddy the Seventh has spent his young life traveling. After Finishing the Schools of Roddyna (the city) he went on the road. He had visited every corner of Roddyna, and the capitols of all three of her neighbors. All throughout his travels he kept a journal of the different roads he traveled on. There were natural roads that came about from many a foot traveling the same route. In the cities there were some man made roads, covered in wood or stone. He had even seen rope roads that hung from tree to tree over a vast swamp.
The most common problem of a road was when it rained the parts of the road between any hills would get flooded and very muddy. Some roads seemed to have had trouble knowing where they were heading and wound from one direction to another aimlessly, which made traveling along them take longer then needed to get to your destination. Some roads lacked any sort of markers to tell you where you were. Some would go past a town with the town being over a hill, and you'd never know you had gone by it. Some roads were along cliffsides, and were so narrow that two wagons could not pass eachother without one falling off the cliff. Some went through woods, and the trees had some branches so low that things not securely tied to the wagon could get knocked off. Some roads went on for dozens of miles without any shelter by the road, nowhere to settle for the night that had any protection from the elements.

And so when Roddy the Seventh was given reign of the Nation of Roddyna, his first task was to improve the Roads within the nation, and he decided that he would lay a road to connect Roddyna to a foreign capitol. He trained many men in the skill of building a durable road and then he set them to work. He repaired the major roads connecting the bigger towns of Roddyna. He connected most of the old forts one the outskirts of the nation to the towns around them.
The only thing he needed now was for his emmisaries to the neighbors to get back, so that he could decide which nation to build his major road to.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to quit this NES. With school piling up in the final quarter, and with my own new NES opening, I don't have time for all the games I'm in. Maybe some time in the future I can rejoin. :(

KINGDOM OF BRABANT

The merchants of Leuven shouted over eachother, each trying to best the other in a sport of pocketbook and lung. The result was a clamour of voices and coinage. To most, a most grating melody, but to a citizen of Leuven, the capital of Brabant, it was a most sweet harmony of economics. Like the tidal ebb and flow of the Dijle River, it was a force of nature, a force of supply and demand.
"The markets of Leuven are some of the most extensive of the known world, rivaling even those of the exotic Middellandse-Zeegebied to the south. To become the foremost economic power, vader, we must grow our trade," the merchant advised.
"The military rammifications of this could be catastrophic," the King reasoned, "I could not do this in good conscience."
"Forgive me, my lord, but such a event is unlikely to happen within your reign. The benefit of the economic decisions you make now will allow us to have a great army by the time your grandson reigns."
"Perhaps you are right, consul. Be it so."

Rome is honestlly considering pressing from somthign saimiler for its origional peace treaty with Phoenicia, if for no other reason then to ensure that the northern barbarian raiders never pose a threat again...

now we understand full well that Egypt has had its own barbarian problems in the past, and contues to, but, fighting half naked nubians armed with bows, spears, and cow hide sheilds is a different matter then fighting -generally- clothed indivduials from several tribes with different fighting styles- and although Romes army has continually evolved specifically to hold a great advatage agaist them, Rome must also proove to its people ion the northern area f the empire that they can find saftu in rome, and not Etrusca, should that have ever considered it.

therefore, our nations, Rome, Egypt, and macedonia to collectivelyl talk fo the issue of the Phoenician war, and what our next step is

Prussia is the bluish-type color east of light blue (which is Germany). Prussia is invading Germany because they raided Prussian villages when they were just barbarians, and they are also being invaded by the Muscovites in the south.

You can join as Prussia, any NPC, or make your own if you wish.
