From Roddyna
Dear Neighbors,
We (I, lol) still do not have an answer from either of you to our inquiery as to wheather you would be accepting of a road between our Capitols.
I have a proposal for the two of you. I propose that we connect our three capitols to eachother by roads. I propose that each of us builds the road to one of the others' capitols so that all 3 are connected together. For example i would build the road from my capitol to Muscovy's Capitol, Muscovy would build a road from his Capitol to Scythia's Capitol, and Scythia would build a road from his capitol to mine.
Thereby all three of us only build 1 road each, but are directly connected to both the other nations. This will allow trade between our nations to flourish, and enrich all of us.
I ancsiously await your answers, as i have road builders standing by now to know if they should start the road.
House of Roddy - Roddy VII
Roddy the Seventh has spent his young life traveling. After Finishing the Schools of Roddyna (the city) he went on the road. He had visited every corner of Roddyna, and the capitols of all three of her neighbors. All throughout his travels he kept a journal of the different roads he traveled on. There were natural roads that came about from many a foot traveling the same route. In the cities there were some man made roads, covered in wood or stone. He had even seen rope roads that hung from tree to tree over a vast swamp.
The most common problem of a road was when it rained the parts of the road between any hills would get flooded and very muddy. Some roads seemed to have had trouble knowing where they were heading and wound from one direction to another aimlessly, which made traveling along them take longer then needed to get to your destination. Some roads lacked any sort of markers to tell you where you were. Some would go past a town with the town being over a hill, and you'd never know you had gone by it. Some roads were along cliffsides, and were so narrow that two wagons could not pass eachother without one falling off the cliff. Some went through woods, and the trees had some branches so low that things not securely tied to the wagon could get knocked off. Some roads went on for dozens of miles without any shelter by the road, nowhere to settle for the night that had any protection from the elements.
And so when Roddy the Seventh was given reign of the Nation of Roddyna, his first task was to improve the Roads within the nation, and he decided that he would lay a road to connect Roddyna to a foreign capitol. He trained many men in the skill of building a durable road and then he set them to work. He repaired the major roads connecting the bigger towns of Roddyna. He connected most of the old forts one the outskirts of the nation to the towns around them.
The only thing he needed now was for his emmisaries to the neighbors to get back, so that he could decide which nation to build his major road to.
