Update VI - 1000b.c.e.

Events:

Sweden strikes back at Norway as an army of nearly a thousand men is mustered to defend the homeland and take the war to Norway. The two armies meet in the icy lands near Goteburg, where a momentous battle takes place between a seemingly unorganized Swedish militia and the organized ranks of Norwegian vikings. The Swedish, however, turn out to be well trained soldiers. The surprise takes the Norwegians by surprise, and the battle is won by the Swedish. However, another Norwegian army has attacked from the north, taking many northern Swedish lands.

On the boarder of Canaan and Egypt is the focus of many slave and paid laborers constructing huge forts that better exert the Pharoahs power in this remote region. Meanwhile, with the new trade with Macoroba, eastern lands become populated with Egyptians and a new city rises. Also, with the Macoroban goods, Egypt becomes the middleman between Mediterranean trade and Macoroban trade, surpassing Phoenicia. With the new found wealth in trade with Macoroba, Rome, and Macedon, Egypt is quickly challenging the Phoenician dominance in trade. However, repeated incursions into Egyptian territory by Nubian raiders has dwindled the Southern population and security, prompting a large amount os soldiers needed to guard the southern border.

Meanwhile, the Phoenician empire begins to crumble as constant barbarian raids arise in Africa, and Spain rises to challenge the Phoenicians. Granting nearly fully autonomy to all of their colonies weakens the Phoenicians ability to unite and defend properly. Gades is completely overrun by the Spanish, Tripoli has been completely raided and destroyed (despite the brilliant tactics the Phoenicians demonstrate), and Cyrene is under complete attack from all sides. Meanwhile, the Side and Knossos continue to prosper from the Phoenician empire trade, and suffer little to no attacks. However, with the rising power of Egyptian trade, even this prosperity is threatened. The prosperity finally comes to an end when Macedonian armies land in Anatolia and Crete, taking both colonies easily.

The Phoenicians are met in knowledge of organizing their army for battles when they meet with Romen legionaries. Facing the well-trained and new Triarii Legionaries in Sicily, the Phoenicians are out-classed and out-numbered. The full colony of Sicily falls to the Romans as the Phoenicians are wiped from the colony.

As the Phoenician ships leave for the Baleric islands, Egyptian ships ferry over nearly their whole army to do battle in the Phoenician homeland. As they land they are attacked by civilian militia, but nothing to serious. They make their way to Tyre, which is sacked by the Egyptian soldiers. As the invasion of Phoenicia goes underway, many in Canaan protest the carnage that is going on. The most casualties is one galley sinking in as it tried to dock with Tyre, nearly 20 chariots sink along with their drivers.

The Songhai relocate their dirty and pollutant forges to the outside of the cities, where the forges are rebuilt. However, with the inability to easily sell their items not for the military to the people of the cities is impeded, the revenue is dashed (-industry). In the north, the Mali continue to fight eachother, one side is supported and trained by the Songhai military. However, both sides continue win equal amount of battles, and the lines are stagnated. But for the Songhai, support for the war is waning as more people want to philosophize and grow their cities and trade rather then waste money on fighting.

Germany, intent on having a mining town, construct their second town a beat east of Breslau. Vienna rises on the shores of the Danube, where industry is immediately built with the digging of mines and the construction of rudementary mines. However, the Prussians continue their pursuit into Germany after many diplomatic discussions that led nowhere. At the Battle of Mostrava, the Germans are pushed back as the Prussians continue to push their efforts inland. Meanwhile, another Prussian force is led by a German general into the siege of Berlin. However, an unchecked Muscovite army in the south invades Prussia from behind, which will surely take the pressure off of Germany.

As Medina is peacefully reunited with Mecca under the nation of Macoroba, the Hyksos culture left from the occupiers is assimilated by the Macoroban culture, creating a new blend of artistic, militant and trading behaviors of the people, leading to a unique culture. Anyways, with the annexing of the lands surrounding Medina, and the increase of trade and new found relations with Egypt, the nation's economy sky-rockets (increase economy).

As Roddynia begins to open relations with surrounding nations such as the Scythians and Bulgars, the King determines that it is best that Roddynia remain technologically superior. By schooling the House of Roddy, many philosophers begin to turn out in Moscow, the capital of eastern learning. Soon the city is transformed into a city of education, thought, and revelation (Antiquity!).

As the League of Babylon continues to battle the Assyrians, a deal is struck with the Medians. Soon, Assyria finds itself on a two-front war, with Babylonian victories in the south, and Median invasions in the North. Quickly, the King retreats all armies to the homeland.

A new nation, at the mouth of the mighty Rhine river, arises to dominance among the rival tribes of the area. Nordland arises as a nation of farmers and merchants. It is believed that the Nordish emigrated from what is known as Sweden or Norway and from the constant war and rivalries in Scandinavia.

Macedonian trade expands as their ports open up to almost every nation in the eastern Mediterranean, but without and strategic importance their trade is often sacrficial. Meanwhile, expansion north is met with little resistance as the Balkan people accept dominance; and expansion in Anatolia is only haulted when confronted with another border. Also, Byzantine has agreed to an alliance with Macedonia.

The Scythians come to learn that they totally dominate their region, the Scythian horsemen becoming the most feared entity in the known world. Through this blatant militarism, the Scythians are able to carve a large empire in just years. The immediate benefits from such an empire has come in the form of much money from tax revenue and war booty, though the hightened economy is completely attached to expansion.

The Kingdom of Brabant also arises as a rival to the Nordlandish, as they come to dominate their region as well, but are actually native to the land. Their society is soley based upon the farming, mining and arqueticture.

Without a formidable defense in the north, Rome is attacked by the various barbarian tribes who raid the villages, burn the farms, and carry of the booty. The people of the north become angry that the King is not fully protecting them, and many begin to see how well Etrusca does in protecting it's citizens.

From: Rome

while I cannot say about our brethren, rome will not halt unless your colonies in Malta, the Baleric islands, and Sardinia are seeded over to Rome, and that you agree to a treaty limiting your number sof troops- thogh for protection, Rome will aid your nation in protecting itself if it become needed, assuming that who you war with is not a Roman ally.

To: barbarians of the North
You have seald your fate.

From Egypt
To Phienicia

Our demands are simple. Phoenicia and it's territories in Africa will become provinces of Egypt, and will recieve the same rights as Egyptians themselves. Your governors will be given the local titles and descend from your kings and nobility of old, who will retain some of their power. In return, you will have the protection of the superior Egyptian military from barbarian raids throughout your kingdom along with reforms being directed to your parts of the Egyptian imperium first.

From: Egypt
To: Macoroba

Egypt is also happy to be trading with your nation. As long as you wish it, we will continue the caravans between us in hopes of bettering both of our economies.

OOC: To Jason, sorry man, won't happen again.

To: Egypt
From: rome

while Rome understands your natiosn want to be rid of the Phoenicians by incorpereateing them into your empire- an action that Rome dose not entirelly oppose, Rome feels that your demands for peace make the entire treaty unacceptable- perhaps a different set of reperations with an effect that while not the same would be to both egypt and phoenicias benifit- perhaps rallying them under a new constitution, or a triumverate of rulers that are put forth by Rome, Egypt, and Macedonia, are ratfied by a council of phoencians as well- to make phoenicia have a pro allied government, but a government accepted and liked by the people as well.

From Egypt
To Rome

Phoenicia is in no position to negotiate. Not only is it's army smaller and inferior to Egypt's, it is spread out over a much larger distance. Even without Egypt's attack, Phoenicia was failing as a state. Phoenicia's king himself has fled the country and abandonned his people. It is clear that Phoenicia's kings failed their nation and people, and as such Egypt has every right to take over from them, especially considering that conditions for Phoenicians will be better with Egyptian rule. The people will prosper from Egyptian rule, and the nobles who have been thoroughly beaten on the battle field have been given an offer that is more than fair enough. The Phoenician aristocrats would be most wise to accept the offer given to them before more blood is shed.
