StKNES4: Battle Scars

I only have 3 orders at present, and I wanted to update tonight, but I am willing to wait until tomorrow to get all of them, since it is the first update.

OOC: :O I am used to "no orders on first update" policies by mod, I am going to work on orders right away and send them after the diplomacy and stuff is answered

@Kamilian1, should not Turkestan, that lays directly south of Kazakhstan, be a satellite of Kazakhstan instead of Turkmenistan, who is separated by Turkestan from Kazakhstan?
And what is that purple(ish) nation bordering the north of Persia? I cant find it/make it out from the stats.

Diplomacy

From Persia
To Arabia

Islamic Brothers, we are very surpised to hear of your request to join in an alliance with the Western Imperialists, while we fully agree that the atheistic communist ways are evil bejond doubt we do not feel that the western people would promote the interest of Islam, therefore we hope that Arabia will reconsider their request for admission in the Pact of Steel and with us Create an Islamic alliance.

Also by request from our holy council of Imams we offer you the following deal:
We cede to you all the Sunnite populated lands south of river Indus (Pakistan) and in exchange you cede us all the Shiite holy lands north of the river Euphrates (Iraq) and the Shiite holy cities of that lay on the southern bank of the river Euphrates (Najaf, Karbala).

To France
From Scandinavia

We would be willing to accept the democrats u kick out of ur country...

To Feanor:
The Turkestan and Turkmenistan things is not a mistake on my part. In the prequel to this, right before it ended, they were one country and then went their separate ways because the north (Turkestan) wanted democracy while the south (Turkmenistan) chose overwhelmingly Communist in the elections. They originally seceded from Kazakhstan but the south was leftist overwhelmingly, and they parted ways peacefully to prevent disastrous civil war between the two political factions. The border between them is still not very defined, however, since there are mixed-population towns and villages along the border.

The country north of eastern Persia (aka Afghanistan and Pakistan) is Central Asia, and it is a Russian puppet state, listed in the Satellite section of the stats.

War with whom by whom?

To: USEA
From: PRC

Even though our alliance was short-lived, we accept a NAP.

Noting the ever changing world and the ever increasing bigotry and hostility of anti-communist states, First Citizen Vo initiates a series of reforms aimed at improving the People's Republic of China overall and it's citizens standard of living.

Reform 1

Economy

The PRC begins to initiate a plan to "privatize its economy." This privatization process is not a transformation into complete capitalism, however. A new system of business will be implemented. At the core of this is the Community Interest Company (CIC). Simply put, the CIC will be a business that can sell shares of stocks with capped dividend payments, much like a corporation. It's main objective will be the community, not the endless pockets of the shareholders. Each CIC will be able to expand, grow, and make profit, but will be tied to the interests of the community. Government regulators will be appointed to ensure CICs are following the interests of the community, and shareholders will be assured that their investment is directly benefitting the community. The regulators will do little regulating however, as they are just an "observer/suggestion" force, actual regulatory actions will be decided by the community itself. Many factories and consumer services have already been changed to CIC form, with the community/government as the primary shareholders.

Social Freedoms

PRC citizens are welcome and encouraged to constructively criticize any inefficiencies or gross erroneous situations they see in the government. Citizen input will be used to better the government. The Press will also have more freedoms to report necessary information to citizens, however they are discourage from spreading propaganda.

Beuracratic Reform

Many levels of redundancy and pointless paperwork have been reduced. Beuracracy will be greatly lessened.

Military Remodeling

Following the Beuracratic Reform, the military has been streamlined to improve efficiency and combat readiness and performance.

This is just the initial stage of The Great Reformation. More changes are to follow to improve the PRC.
---------------------------------------

Manchuria adopts these policies as well following the public announcement of The Great Reformation.

From Manchuria
To PRC:
We will try these policies, but we see them as bordering on a restoration of capitalism, and if we will restore capitalism in our countries on our own, why even fight against the capitalist oppressors? Why even give promises to the proletariat when we're going to turn back around into the capitalist pigs?

Kamilian1 said:
silver, what is it that you are not understanding specifically?
If you're wondering about the whole thing with Recessions and Depressions and how many turns it takes, it's simple:
Deep Depression to Depression - you must increase economy 4 turns in a row
Depression to Recession - you must increase economy 3 turns in a row
Recession to Mild Recession - you must increase economy 2 turns in a row
Mild Recession to Failing - it only takes 1 turn to increase to that level, and same for Failing-->Stable, Stable-->Growing, etc

QUOTE]

But are there economy points or something. So far all the NES's I've been in (3) have where you spend economy points to increase things and you get a certain amount of points each turn.
For example
-3 eco. on Infantary or something. How do you increase things here?

ummm same method. i'm thinking of imposing the same rule as in stormy's cold war NES w/ the economies (that it takes several turns to advance to the next level for EACH level)

To Persia
From Arabia

We are intrested in an alliance. But as for the land... should not all Muslims of the world be united regardless of sect? If we divide our nations along these lines we will promote fragmentation. It is Allahs will that all good Muslims of the world have brotherhood and friendship and do not divide.

To Turkey

We propose a NAP for 10 turns

OK, I am going to extend the update since I changed the economy, and that will affect players. Sorry!
If it is too confusing, because I have a problem being concise, go see stormy's economy rule on his cold war NES because the premise is the same. Again, sorry for the inconvenience!
If you need to re-do orders, then do so in new PMs or whatever method, and tell me to delete old ones.
If you do not need to re-do, despite the economy change, then just tell me on the thread or on AIM or something that your orders are good.

From Turkey
To Arabia:
A 10-turn NAP sounds terrific, our Islamic friends.

To Azerbajan
From Arabia

You have been excommounictaed for your sinful ways. We gave you a chance to change yet you rejected it. May the wrath of Allah strike you down!
