Agreed - I also want to tell the AI to leave my city-states alone, that they are warmongering bastards, to generally insult them when I feel like it, to ask them to denounce other players like they do, and to ask them for help for once.
I also agree. Every diplomatic discussion option used by the AI should also be available to the player, such as insulting their army or economy. I feel limited when Montezuma starts talking down to me and I can't do the same to him. Also, when we start moving units in preparation for an attack, the AI can call us on it and if we answer honestly (saying they are right to worry and I declare war) then they get the first shot. If I lie and attack anyway then I look bad. It's only fair that we can call the AI on their military buildup and potentially make them look bad to the world if they say they are just 'passing through' but attack soon after.
