Stormtrooper Name Survey

Since I noticed that there seems to be some confusion how I called this unit, I am posting a survey that will expire April 13 to decide what to rename this unit:
1) Stormtrooper
2) SS Panzerguard
3) Wehrmacht
4) Heer
5) Panzergrenaider


Just post a reply and then I will manualy count them.

I prefer Wehrmacht since it was the name most commonly used with the infantry of the Axis Third Reich. I just think Stormtrooper brings Starwars up in to many minds.

I guess Wehrmacht would be most appropriate. However, I think most people will simply rename it to whatever they need it to be for their mods.

I suggest "Waffen-SS" to name the unit, not Wehrmacht. The unit's using an automatic short weapon (MP-40 for example), not a mauser rifle, wears the svastica in his arm, and the victory animation is the nazi salute, not according so much to the standard german infantry.

I agree with Ed O'war. Wehrmacht is probably the best name for them.

The Storm Trooper or Sturmabteilung (SA) actually refers to the "Brown Shirts", the thugs who went around terrorizing the jews during the early period of Nazi Germany.

As you can see, the Wehrmacht was the combined German Armed Forces.

If you want to stick with stormtrooper why not change it to Sturmtruppen?

I don't think there were any actual units in the Wehrmacht called sturmtruppen but with German they make up words all the time. That's one of the things I loved about studying German. You could just make up words by combining other words endlessly, i.e. Panzervernichtungstrupp (tank destroying troops). Got to love that German, what a sexy language.

I'd be happy with "German Infantry"! After all, later on someone is bound to make a "Soviet Infantry" unit, then an "American Infantry" unit, then change the name of the civ3 unit to "British Infantry".....

Ok, ok, it IS a bit of a boring name. All right then, I go for...."Wehmacht Infantry". That's a nice general puropse name that covers Panzergrenadiers/SS Troopers/Volksturm and many other Third Reich foot soldiers.

It seems like "Wehrmact" is leading. I like that idea from Pablostuka "Waffen SS"...

I never had done any unit, but I have a lot of ideas...I hope this forum could help me ...what do you think about an anti-tank gun of the WW2 era?It could be a cool unit...I'll work on it

I am at work right now, soon as I'll get home later I will update my unit. Also I will touch up a little my Victory animation (it looks great right now, but I want to make it even better looking )
