STR-08: Love To Hate -- Take Five

Not much happened overall,
A nosy scout met it's end to a bloodthirsty Aztec warrior and 30 slaves were sacrificed in celebration.
A Khmer archer moved towards pigiron but I coaxed it onto flat territory and killed it.
Our exploring axe pillaged a sheep pasture outside Angkor Thom for 6 gold and a couple of mines outside Yasod for 10 and 7 gold a piece. I also cut a road between Yasod and HariHaraKrishna (and Aztec names are hard...)
Iron working revealed an iron mine connected in Khmer territory, unfortunately I attacked an archer/settler pair netting a worker but now our pillager axe has to act as an escort. Mathematics was selected as next tech but no turns have been invested.
Pigiron got it's pigs and copper improved, workers are now building a cottage to help balance out the food.
Tenoch and Teo have pretty much been on military production ever since Teo finished tis granary.
I started to move our stack into Khmer territory but should have left that to the next player to decide sorry, they're 2 moves out of our borders.

What are people's thoughts on taking down Sury? Do we try and take his cities now or wait until Construction. Do we want to just try and raze a few cities or pillage him senseless?

We happy with Mathematics as research (probably yes) or rather Alphabet to try and get some trading done.
 
Angkor Thom should be able to be captured/razed quite easily with the latter option being a little more preferable as it's quite close to the capitol.
Yasodhara looks like it has walls so cats would be best for that task.

Researchwise I think maths instead of alphabet, we only know Hatty as a trading partner for now and peace negotiations are a no-no with Surya.

OK here's what happened...
When I finished my turns I went over the cities and evaluated what our path should be, then I took a screenshot and drew some arrows and a picture of the lochness monster. Next I went downstairs to eat my dinner which was getting cold. After that I went back upstairs and started my turns in another SG. What seems to be missing is me actually saving the game.

What do we do? Shall I play again or is it Kosher for Oz to play?

Oh well... I thing this is a decision for the fearless SG leader. I'm fine with both options.

Sorry I highly doubt there's an autosave, I've started a couple of SP games since then. The only hope is that it's fallen on an Epic only year rather than a normal speed year. I'll have to check.

We pop a GG I leave him for discussion as I have 4 turns left. Merge or attach. Maybe attach to warrior as super city raider or super medic?

We easily survive his pathetic counterattack.



We also met another neighbour. No. 3 on the hit list.



And collect an AI capital.



We also get our first :mad: of WW.

Our main problem is the size limit of cities due to hapiness. We may need Monarchy urgently or even settle a city to pick up the gold. We should have the troops on hand to deal the death blow to Sury soon or at least get out and pillage his iron. I think we probably need to raze his remaining cities until we can stabilise and grow our economy.
 
My turnset was not exactly animated..... I quickly realized that we would drop in a eco hole if we continued to spam units and decided to change the queues to other things ( even queued Mids in capitol )....

First of all sent a pillaging party to surya lands... if we finish his iron we'll be in a better position

I suggest that we turtle a little until we got cats... Surya has his cities full of units and we simply don't have enough power to dislogde him without siege.

We need to put a eye on Hatty and ( within current possibilities ) to prepare our offensive against her ( making a road would be a nice idea )

Pigiron is unhappy and has 10 turns left of whip anger. I start a settler there for the Gold/Sheep spot. We cant afford it, but i like gold and at size 2, it can work the gold and still grow. I send a jag from yasod to the new site for MP duty.

Pyramids get built. I hire 2 scientist in capitol to slow growth and start a worker. In Pigiron, I whip the settler for 2 pop.
Turn 175...Im an idiot and let pigiron grow back into unhappiness. I hire 2 scientist there. GoldSheep is founded and a monument is being chopped out.

Turn 176...I whack an archer at Yasod. Pigiron comes out of unhappiness. I whack an axe near surys iron.
Yurn 177...In Teo, I complete an axe to 1 turn from completion...we dont need him yet and start a jag.
Turn 178...I start a cottage on the spices at the capitol. Its working the tile to slow growth anyway. I whip a granary at yasod for 2 pop--->start barracks.
Turn 179...Goldsheep completes a monument--->starts granary
Turn 181...worker completes in capitol--->Axe

I did a little pillaging, but didnt put any units at risk. We still have the GG. Not sure what to do with him. Maybe we should settle him somewhere so our cats come out with 2 promotions. We are 4 turns from construction, but thatll go up when the money we got from losing the mids runs out. Sury is getting his iron from his buddy.

I took out 1 of his cows, came back to the iron and the iron was rebuilt, then he rebuilt the other cow. We need 2 pillaging stacks.
