Ok, here is a new one on me. I have the patch and am running Win2k.

I started a new game, and met up with the Indians right away and wanted to trade tech with them. I offered two techs and wanted three. Of course, my advisor said this was "doubtful", so I decided to toss in some gold. I set it to 1 gold per turn, and the advisor said we were "getting close". I moved it up to 2 per turn, and he said they would be "insulted!". I moved it up to *30* per turn, and still they would be "insulted". Not that I would give them 30 of course ;-)

Anyhow, this seems like a weird bug that I am guessing arose from the tweaking that was done in the patch to keep the AI from paying huge amounts of gold per turn for techs.

Has anyone else experienced this, or can you repeat it on your systems?

Its like that and its meant to be like that. You are not able to offer that much more gold than you can make in a turn. You would go bankrupt real quick and not be able to pay them anything so they would be insulted.

Thats why it happens.
