Stuck at Init Engine

Hey,

just bought Civ4 Complete,I startup the game and it freezes when it gets to Init Engine(Vanilla,Warlods and BST),the screens turns black, and then nothing.... it seems many people have this problem, i searched this forum, and tryed everything, but with no success.

I´m using Win7 32bits version.

Here is what i´ve done so far:

i enabled Window mode in .ini

disabled intro movie

All addons that came with the game are updated.

Directx is updated

ATI4770 card driver is updated

I also tryed turning off my antivirus( thats the only protection i have)

The game works fine on my laptop :S

Dunno if this is any usefull, but i checked the utility manager, and civ4 exe ,besides using almost all my cpu resources, it keeps building up memory.


I cant see anything else to do, so any help would be welcome.

Finally solved my problem, the cause was the latest ATI drivers(10.2), it was also screwing with my video playback, so i installed 9.1 and voila, everything is working.
