 Standard map,me America, center of map,Japan sw of me,england westside me India southeast of and french northeast of me.One way to French and India's land.Through a valley between to mountain ranges.India builts city in middle of valley. What happens when Nepoleon declares war and player has no open border agreement with other three civs.Or India just happens to be mad at them.Get the picture.Makes things interesting. This is on settler difficulty.Yea probely a fluke but makes you wonder.:mischief:

lol i have similar Situation in my game.

I'm in the northernmost region of my continent. the the Se theres a huge bay which pushes inland, just 2 squars down a mountian chain that stretchs 6 or 7 squares, and to the West of the mountian chain is spain, and to the East is a spanish city. I managed to build 2 cities south of the mountians. Then Spain cut off their borders with me. there was a small ammount of territory that was unclaimed that i slid a few troops thru, I sent a settler to the terrirtory to ensure a connection so I could spread my religion to Greece, Rome, and Aztecs. Butt by the time my settler got there they expanded. Now I've been pushing as much culture as I can in the the 2 Cities I have on opposite sides of the moutnian chain, hoping to push them off, and Im primarly building settlers n troops in the other cities S of the Moutain Chain. I've successfully Cut the Egyptians off from their City on the Eastern end ofthe mountain Chain, and blocked them from the Aztecs, who both hate eachother, and both have cancele open borders with me. The only way the Egyptians would be to fight is to march thru Greece, and Greece dont like them, the Aztecs however, love the greeks, So the Egyptians wil lget screwed. Ofcourse, Once I convert Caesar, I feel that the Spanish will face my Wraith.

point is, there should be some kind of special worker u can build that takes 3 times longer to build, but can make a road over mountains. allowing troops to pass over it.

The only way to get to France is through India and you risk war with two civ's at once and we all know how that can be.Unless you want to go the water route.I just thought it was pretty smart for the AI to block the only land route to the eastern hempisphere.Sorry for the confusion.

You might want to be more careful with your subject line spelling, particularly when you're calling something stupid;) .:goodjob:

I looked at the rest of your posts (I'm not a spelling nazi, really) and you look to have a pretty good typing/spelling going there, so that subject line was like from outer space. I think you must had been in the mode of that yellow face in your signature, at the time.

I have absolutely no idea why you think the AI is stupid for that. It was a very tactically smart thing to do.

He's not saying it's dumb, he's saying it was smart. He was saying it in a "You think the AI is stupid? Look at this!" kinda way.

...I think.

yea Seris thats what I meant.Everyone talks about how civ 3 AI's did strange things.Well may the AI has learned from its mistakes and got smarter this go around.I guess I should make my comments clearer.Sorry all.

Sorry all.

That's all right, jus' make sure that although you may be able to understand something, make sure that other people should be able to understand it too.
