This has almost definitely been done before but anyway...

Post your countyrs stupid laws here. OK I will start:

In Carlisle it is still legal to whip a Scotsman for crossing the border.

"Unconventional" sexual behavior between two people of legal age and consent is against the law. I doubt anyone has been recently arrested for this -- (I do not mean prostitution)

Some laws from my resident state of Oregon:

Dishes must drip dry.
The "Peer Review Statute" prohibits you from finding out details of any written or oral discussion about your medical treatment. Not even a court of law can. All you can access is what the doctor or nurse voluntarily records in your chart.
It is illegal to whisper "dirty" things in your lover's ear during sex.
Ice cream may not be eaten on Sundays.
It is illegal to buy or sell marijuana, but it is legal to smoke it on your own property.
One may not bathe without wearing "suitable clothing," i.e., that which covers one's body from neck to knee.
Canned corn is not to be used as bait for fishing.

In Myrtle Creek, OR, it is illegal to box with a kangaroo.

The German consitution prohibits the Death Penalty. But the state constitution of the state of Hesse still includes it. As federal law comes before state law that has no practical meaning.
The funny part is that is that some people wanted to remove it from Hesse's constitution which would require a vote in parliament. But the federal constitution that prohibits it also prohibits any votes on that issue so it can't be done.

In Champaign, Illinois, it is illegal to pee in your neighbor's mouth.

In Joliet, Illinois, mispronouncing the name of the city is punishable by a $5 fine.

In Normal, Illinois, it is illegal to make faces at dogs.

This reminds me of one of the rock n' roll stations around here. They were on a mission to break the law in all 50 states by breaking stupid laws like what's been mentioned above. It's been too many years ago so I can't remember any of them, but one. In some state (florida?) it is illegal to beat a garbage can. So they called some guy at a restaurant and asked him to start bashing a garbage can. The next thing you hear is the sound of a guy beating on a trash can. I wonder what the people around him were thinking? I'm not sure, but I think they did get into trouble for one of the laws they broke and had to stop doing this.

Later, that same station pulled a stunt that landed a DJ in jail. He walked into a hardware store with a prison jumpsuit on and handcuffs. Then he asked for a hacksaw. A bunch of people freaked out and called the cops. One of the workers there actually went to go get a hacksaw! People should have realized it was a joke because the words on the jumpsuit was 'MonROW County Jail', but it should be spelled MonROE.

Dumb Laws:

Thistles may not grow in one's yard.

No person who is a "tramp" or "vagrant" shall loiter in any park at any time. They define tramp as a person who roves for begging purposes and a vagrant as an idle person who is able-bodied living without labor. It's a $50 fine.

It's illegal to take a lion to the movies.

It's illegal to throw bales of hay from a second-story window within the city limits. (In Baltimore)

It is a violation of city code to sell chicks or ducklings to a minor within 1 week of the Easter holiday.

It is a park rule violation to be in a public park with a sleeveless shirt. $10 fine. This would include joggers that go shirtless.

In Baltimore City:
You may not curse inside the city limits.

Though you may spit on a city roadway, spitting on city sidewalks is prohibited.

In Ocean City:
Eating while swimming in the ocean is prohibited.

In Malaysia,there is this Muslim extremist party called PAS that controlled 2 out of 14 states in Malaysia(the rest is controlled by UMNO,the moderate party)
Under PAS state,wearing of BIKINI in swimming pool is prohibited .What rubbish is this?The tourism industry in the 2 states has been hit severly.

Eating of chewing gums is prohibited
No feeding of birds(they dirt the city)

In Colorado, USA :
- It is illegal to ride a horse while under the influence.
- Car dealers may not show cars on a Sunday.
- It is unlawful to lend your vacuum cleaner to your next-door neighbor.
- The dog catcher must notify dogs of impounding by posting, for three consecutive days, a notice on a tree in the city park and along a public road running through said park.
- It is illegal to go in public dressed in clothes "unbecoming" on one's sex.
- Cats may not run loose without having been fit with a taillight.
- It is illegal to bring your horse or pack mule above the ground floor of any building.

FezMonk, I heard it is illegal to consume roadkill in an Oregon city, and the inhabitants actually tried to get the law reversed? Do you know about this? It was a Trivial Pursuit question...

Actually I'd like to see some of this stuff cleaned up. A little consolidation and clean-up of the legal code might make it a bit more accessible to the average citizen.
