TF has agreed to give us 3 sub-forums for the Civ 3 Democracy Game.

We need to decide what sub-forums need to be set-up and what descriptions they should have.

This will not be formally decided until after the current elections, but post any ideas here.

To see a sample of what they will look like, go to the Civ 3 Creation Forum.

Prehaps this (Its early so Im on brain-drain) :(

1) Polls
2) Citizen discussion
3) Government (log files, the constitution, city summaries)

I like those suggestions too. In Citizen discussion, the Citizen groups could be made sticky. Someone just coming into the game will need to read certain threads such as the Constitution. These critical threads should be kept on the main forum.

How 'bout if the citizens can post a set of questions to the leaders and the mods select the best 15-20 to be replied by the respective minister:king:

If we're to keep this existing forum plus get 3 new sub-forums, which is what i think the Duke is talking about, this main forum could mainly stay the same with general discussins and cabinet votes and sticky threads. My suggestions (at the moment) might be as follows:

1. Gubernatorial (ALL) - this forum would cover all concerns of a province. Stats, queues, mayoral requests/suggestions, provincial polls, etc. Each Governor would start the thread for their Province.

2. Citizenry Polls - This forum would be used for any citizen to cast a poll to seek polarity on any issue. These polls would not be sanctioned, but would show a popular citizen stance on issues. These polls would also be beyond Government control, except for main forum rules and the moderators control.

3. Leaders/Governors (Next Turn) - To be used only by the Leaders and Governors to state their recommendations or demands for the next turn chat. It will give the President his Administrative Assistant in this area plus show the citizenry the proficiency of their Leaders and Governors

That's what I suggested eons ago (in game time atleast). :D

I suggest this:

1. Government Folder - All sticky threads (which are mostly department threads)

2. Polls, and chat Folder - Discussions on what to do next

3. Citizens "chat" Folder - A fun folder to make up stories about the daily lives of citizens throughout the game (including a CNN-like news service). Citizens' Groups will also go here.

Main level - Upfront dem-game FAQs, Current Deparment Terms (keep it short and simple - only the main dept. threads. any other type threads can go in the 1st folder/sub forum), History, announcements (of polls, chats, etc.)...

Well, after looking at everyone elses' posts, we all seem to agree for the most part. :)

i agree with Immortal's suggestion's.So if everybody disagree's with those proposition's post quick as i will ask tf soon to create them. :)

We have way to much sticky's at the moment anyway.

Someone from my Spice Trader's Guild/Trade Departmnet must've left a little too much sauce on the floor. :D

Can't we put the constitution on the main forum and the government sub-forum as well?

Document control frowns on multiple locations for the same version. ;)

But, you gave me an idea. One sticky thread on the main page with links to the "must read" threads like the Constitution should do the trick. That way there's one place for people to go to learn what the game's about. This thread should be a single post and updated by the Moderators. That way you won't have to go through who knows how many posts to find the links you need and we won't have to worry about people cleaning up their posts when the links/info changes.
