Hey guys, I'm relatively new to this mod but I've studied the wiki for it and have been reading the various threads on this site devoted to it. That being said I have a big question that I haven't been able to figure out.

Where is Summoning?

It says in the Wiki that you need Writing + either Elementalism or Necromancy and that would unlock the tech: Summoning. Well, at least as of ffh2 .33, I don't see it. I have Writing, Elementalism AND Necromancy and can't research Summoning. I seem to be missing something crucial somewhere but I don't know what it is.

Any thoughts?

Summoning doesn't exist anymore, thats old information. Since 0.32 Summoning and Sorcery are merged, so if you have access to spells that summon creatures or do other things depends on which spell sphere you are using.

The best spheres for summoning are Entropy and Death. But good aligned civs will typically dislike you for using those 2 mana types.

Ah! That would explain it, heh. Thanks for the information, it was driving me crazy trying to figure it out.

Might there be an updated spellchart then since the Wiki seems to be for .30 or something?

Xienwolfs manual is updated almost the same second a new version comes out, even though i'm not sure if it's completely finished yet. It should be somewhere around the first 20 posts in this forum.

By the way, we should really create a tutorial for FFH one of these days...

First we have to finish the mod... :)

Well, I would like to express my thanks once again to Kael and all the talented people who helped make this exceptional mod! A friend of mine from a Space Empires IRC channel (of all places) told me about this mod and said I should try it. I did and I'm glad because I had already shelved Civ4 pretty much and this mod has revived it for me again.

Awesome work, guys!

Oh, I had another question if you would indulge me once again. Kael said that good-aligned civs would dislike me for using death and/or entropy mana. Ok, I can see that but what if the "good-aligned civ" is now evil? Einion Logos of the Elohim, who should be good I'm sure, is evil in my game. When I hover my mouse over his entry on the right side of the screen it says he's evil but he also dislikes me for using a death mana.

Is it just hardcoded that way or is this a bug?

So this cannot be changed? It seems strange that an evil leader would even care whether I used a death/entropy mana except that he might be jealous that I had it and he didn't!

Ah, thats too bad. Oh well, its a small thing. I'm sorry for asking so many questions but as soon as I find something new I'm curious, heh. I've already decided I want to be a Summoner type and I think the Pit Beast is better than the Spectre (str 8 vs str 3). What I would like to know is if the Mage gets xp from proxy combat via summons and, for abilities like the Spectre has (affinity for death mana), does that affinity translate into say +1 strength per mana of that type?

Yeah but they are so much fun!
