Super Power Modpack - Total Conversion

This mod has truly reinvigorated my love for this game, but I've got a tiny problem! For some reason the R.E.D modpack will not work no matter what I try (deleted cache, tried loading them in a different order etc.). Any ideas as to what I can do about it? R.E.D has worked with every other mod I have tried btw.

hi first i must say that my english skills are very bad,sorry for this.

So here my experiences.

1.
when someone want to use Steam workshop to load the parts of the mod,it dint work.
this packt dont load any data to the game:
steam://openurl/http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=285514945
steam://openurl/http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=285528340

2.
When you want download the mod and you has made this nerver before here some information that make it stressfull for you.
a)
1, Download and unzip the files, place the .civ5mod files in your Civ5 mods folder (...\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS)
(Problem with this is the zip files has different parts and sub folder and no one say how or where to copy and paste the parts.)
2, Start the game, go to “mods”.
3, check the marks to load the MOD parts, you must follow this order:
DLL - Various Mod Components → Super Power Balance → Others
Begin your journey! (DDL ok i understand- But what is Various Mod Components ? i dont has this - Super Power Balance ok i has this - Others ??? realy ?)
5, It is highly recommended to check the Civilopedia\Game Concepts for new concepts of this MOD. They are titled as “SP MOD:************”
(i never find it here and when i say here i mean for an very new forum member and gamer of this game i dont know you mean HERE ! )
So at least i download the full packet and the 2 patches from MODDB.

3.
The Mod crash to desktop when you load an saved game.

I tried getting R.E.D to work again and eventually got it to work by disabling the super power units mod, is there a way to get these two to work together?

Last update fixed crash issues for me, thanks.

The following issues has been encountered:

1. Trade route range distance overflow (unable to establish any single route).
2. Still cannot scroll the techs tree.

Civ5Save and screenshots in attachments.

Best regards.

1. are you using an old version of howards dll? that bug was fixed in v59

I have tried this mod and spend many hours playing 1 game - love the mod, but then discovered every single save is at 12kb and cannot load up. Cannot get a single save other than at 12kb. I tried to delete the NewCivilopediaTexts.xml file, and start a new game, but same exact results. This has to do with this mod, and I never experienced this issue with saved games before.

I uploaded several file saves. 1 from the game that I played for a while to discover many 12kb saves, and a new one after deleting the xml file. I cannot attach the lua.log file as it says invalid file when attempting to attach, but the contents are:

[502352.797] Initializing Lua 5.1.4

and the modding.log file:

[502373.139] Changing active DLC and Mods.

I love the mod and want to use it, so please help as soon as you are able. Thanks. :crazyeye:

Additional info: I unloaded mods: Super Power Misc (v.1) and UI-TopPanel Changes (BNW)(v.2), went with Large Map (usually I play Huge), 9 total civs 8 of which are AI, and Epic time (usually play Standard), and was now able to save the game satisfactorily. I will try to reload Super Power Misc (v.1) and alter same game settings to try to troubleshoot. Is there a know compatibility issue with UI-Top Panel Changes?

Im using your mod with the city state diplomacy mod. You policies in the patronage tree negate key policies from that mod. How do I get rid of the new plocies this mod puts in.

Also I dont like the idea of the game ending cause their are too many nukes going off. Tough luck dont get nuked nuke first. How do I turn off the nuclear winter loss condition

difficulty deicide must mean beyond impossible because in under 50 turns the ai had over 30 units, thousands of gold and many tech ahead of me and has already declared war and is raining hell down upon me plus my units are barely damaging his!!

A second question, does the unit mod include nuclear fallout and war casualties? Or is that in balance?

Hi Lincoln, I'm playing your MOD but unfortunately I can't go past the 97th turn because of the corrupted save file bug. I had no problem until that turn, now is impossible to save a good file. I tried what's in the OP without any success. Pretty sad I really wanted to play the MOD

To all who have the "No Scrolling Tech Tree" Issue

I accidentally found out this it may have something to do with the Civilopedia Texts (Very absurd). However and of course, it does not happen on everyone.

This may be solved by deleting all the contents in this file but leave the empty file where it is: Super Power Balance (v 4)\XML\GameText\NewCivilopediaTexts.xml

I'm not sure if this could solve your problem but I found it when I accidentally edited one of the lines in this file and cause MY Tech Tree not scrolling exactly as those reports and solved after undoing that action.

Please inform me whether this solve the problem or not after testing. Thanks!

Looks like a great mod.

I've installed everything as described... DLL file, Super Power Balance, Super Power Units, Building, Misc. Also has Infoaddict and RED. I'm having the non scrolling tech tree issue. I backed the additional mods off but it didn't do anything. Also cleared the catch.
Everything loads great, gameplay is fast, just no scrolling tech tree. Any ideas?

Please check #312

Yes R.E.D works well with this mod as you could see the screenshots on the first page.

However you must make sure this mod loaded before R.E.D

If you want it to loaded before R.E.D every time you may make this mod to be a References of R.E.D.

Add this line to the R.E.D. Modpack (v 27)\R.E.D. Modpack (v 27).modinfo - between <References> </References>:

<Mod id="ff3f0a6f-430a-428b-9dbe-fb8e57cd01a1" minversion="0" maxversion="999" title="Super Power Units" />

1,Steam sometimes won't unpack the mod so you may try the unpacked version.

2, I don't think it is so hard, just unzip the file and put everything in it under ...\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS. If you are new to using Civ5 mod, I suggest you to read some BASIC tutorials before installing. Also, a civ player must be familiar with Civilopedia.

3, that should be a corrupted saved file, please check the fist page and there are solutions.

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried deleting the My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache\Civ5ModsDatabase.db and restarting your computer?

Also, try to enter the game without using Steam. Since Gary Thomas has said this solved the problem: "The failures I had all occurred when I tried to load the game when Civ was first started from Steam. If I have a game running and use Ctrl L (or Esc and the menu) they load without any problems. This is bizarre."

Not tested before , but it seems that UI-Top Panel tweaked the UI whcih cause conflict with this mod. Whatever, glad to hear your game is able to save.

1, Yes you may delete these lines in Super Power Balance (v 4)\XML\PoliciesTweak.xml， then the changes are gone but you may also need to delete the related texts in Super Power Balance (v 4)\XML\GameText、NewTextTweak_EN_US.xml:

<!--******************Patronage********************* -->
<Policies>

<Update>
<Set MinorFriendshipMinimum="15" />
<Where Type="POLICY_PATRONAGE"/>

<Set MinorGoldFriendshipMod="50"/>
<Where Type="POLICY_PHILANTHROPY"/>

2, Yes you can turn it off by deleting all contents in Super Power Balance (v 4)\Lua\Nuclear Winter.lua
