Super Power Modpack - Total Conversion

Found a bug with sea trade routes. After I built colossus, it says the range of the cargo ship from that city is -16 million plots. Sea trade works okay from other cities. Screenshot attached so you can see, let me know if you want a save.

Sorry but this has nothing to do with me. It is a known BUG with Various DLL mod components v53

I have tried both the steam and unpacked download methods

Thanks for offering me details. I am sure you lack some of the DLCs.
Please check my DLCs list used for development.

I am seriously impressed with your mod. I have clocked up 2455 hours of playing CIV5, so have plenty of experience to base my approval on.
Sadly I am having a lot of trouble with save files not reloading. They are a reasonable size (around 1mb). The loading process reaches the point where you are about to click to continue, but just before that there is a CTD. Fire Tuner gives no error message at that point. Also it is somewhat erratic - the files will sometimes load. I am intending to re-save them when that happens, to see if that helps the reloading problem, but have not got an example yet.
The randomness of this effect is reminiscent of the memory space overflow that used to occur in more primitive programming languages such as C or C++.
If you think there is anything useful that I could do to help, please let me know. I am an experienced programmer (I wrote my first program in 1963 - it was awful, but I have improved since then).
Anyway, thanks for your efforts and best wishes.

It is an honor to meet an experienced programming expert like you. By the year of 1963 even my father was not born!

I'm an amateur of programming and teach myself lua while making this mod. Certainly I cannot be too happy to work with you to solve the problems in this mod.

Most balance tweaks in this mod are done in .xml and some special functions are achieved by .lua. I only know little about C++ so I use whoward69's Various DLL Mod Components for DLL support. Now I'm fixing some of problems made in .lua and if lucky I could update a new 4.2 version tomorrow and after that let's get to that version for a deeper debug.

It is really an honor to have your help here and please tell me what you need for debugging work. Thanks!

I'm currently playing on King difficulty Turn 358 as China and I'm at war with Egypt. I own 25% of the map, he owns 45%. The thing is, he just spams units like indefinitely. Whenever I kill 5 of them, 10 of them are just around the corner. I'm already fighting like 50 turns now. He won't accept a Peace Treaty either.

It's nice to have a challenge, but this feels like a balancing issue actually. :D
Perhaps the production costs for late-game units are too low? My capital has 400 Production output per turn, so most units are built pretty fast.
But it may be just me not managing to win a war.

Killing AI units will reduce its population and do serious damage to its economy. However since your opponent is a superpower and it can not be defeated so easily (like in the real world). You may try to unite other nations to fight with you, embargo your opponent or send some strategic bombers to bomb its major cities to destroy the production buildings.

This mod focuses on later game experience so I think it is good to see an intense modern warfare. Best of luck in your current conflict!

I just had a ctd, don't see any reasons as you mention. When i done my turn in war with AI, thier city attacks my unit and ctd happens.
I don't know how to give you some clue like log, maybe you show me way to record log to make these bug clearly.
And here my CTD save, just end turn and game will crash. Hope it can help.

Thank you for your work.

EDIT #1: Sorry, i forgot to tell you what mod i use. They're your recommended DLL, SP mods, Addict Info, More greatworks, Quick turns, Giant Earth maps, IGE.

EDIT #2: I forgot to tell you there's one mod i use that's R.E.D modpacks and i think it has to do something with the CTD. I disable it and i can advance to next turn but now mysave is corrupted even i load another save with 5 turns less. Any solution that fix this corrupted save? Please tell me! Thank you.

Thanks for your report but I'm very sorry a corrupted file cannot be repaired. Please always remember to make a copy for your important game saves.

Yes I've confirmed a bug while debugging that AI city attacking human unit may cause CTD an have done something to repair it. I'll update a new version (4.2) ASAP.

Really enjoying this mod so far, even in its early stage.

Another issue: ranged units often cannot bombard recon cavalry, even when they are in the same tile with another enemy unit and are visible on the map. Not sure if that is the intended design but it can get quite annoying.

e: more bugs:

- none of my cities with a harbour can do sea trade routes (external or internal), it says their range is -16 million plots

- researching electricity takes you into the modern era, when it is under industrial in the tech chart and costs as much as the other industrial techs

Yes, recon cavalry is a kind of "camouflaged" units which immune ranged attack like machine guns, as it is said in the civilopedia. However you could attack them with siege units or attack aircraft.

Sea Troutes is a confirmed BUG with Various DLL mod components v53. Sorry but this has nothing to do with me. Let us wait whoward69 to update his great work. If you have trouble linking sea trade routes you may use IGE to cancel one of your Medieval or Renascence Tech the nput it back. It will sovle the problem, for now.

Electricity is an industrial tech and there should be no problems with it. You should have known that researching all tech in one era will bring you to the next era.

A further comment to my remarks about unloadable save files.
The failures I had all occurred when I tried to load the game when Civ was first started from Steam. If I have a game running and use Ctrl L (or Esc and the menu) they load without any problems. This is bizarre.

Well, computers are interesting "creatures".

I also did have some crash problems like almost everyone else before replacing the new file "New Trait andPolicies.lua" lincoln provided a few posts back. The game crashed randomly every time between turns 70-100.

Haven't had any crash yet after replacing the file. I will report here if more of them occur.

You have my gratitude, what an awesome mod this is!

Thanks for reporting. Since I've received many reports taht the new .lua able to solve the CTD problem, I'' update a new version (4.2) soon.

I just finished a game, no CTD's but there were a few problems.

Trade routes after loading my game up couldn't be established as the distance was at -10,000,000+ in all of my cities.

I could not re-base stealth bombers on the super carrier.

Sometimes, the "choose a free policy" icon appears in the notification list on the right of the screen.

I played a game without barbarians, and later into the game, some barbarian great war infantry appeared from somewhere.

Are helicopters meant to be able to fly over ocean? Because they embark into boats when they move from coast to ocean tiles.

As I've said before, Sea Trade Route Range is a known BUG with Various DLL mod components v53.

The "choose a free policy" icon should have something to do with some new traits achieved by granting a free policy at the game beginning but it not happens on all computers. Maybe I'll try to fix it after finishing off those major CTD issues.

No, helicopters can only fly over coastal areas but they cannot cross deep oceans. (I don't think we could fly a helicopter to Hawai from West Coast)

Barbarian great war infantry may prove to be rebel forces. Please check if your people are happy.

I've fixed the corrupted save with your solution in page #1. But do delete this content will affect the game in the future?

You're right. After another 50 Turns, I managed to push him back and take some cities. I won a science victory in the end. I love your mod. :D

I'm done with the Buildings Translation by the way. Now I'll translate the Units and then I'm finished. :)

Congratulations! I'll keep you posted if there are texts tweaks in the new versions.

I'm very sorry but I checked all about the codes of Tech Tree and no problems may lead to the broken Tech Tree screen found. I didn't use any .Lua to tweak Tech Tree. I can fully understand it is really frustrating to see the Tech Tree messed up, but I thought it may not be the problem of my codes. Maybe you should check your installed DLCs? Since some Tech icons use textures from certain DLCs it may cause the problem.

This is all DLCs I have when developing this mod. Please take a look and good luck!

it's cool, my dlc' matches your's. i dunno what the issue is, but clearly something is funny and apparently it is on my end but the problem is i just don't know what it is. It can't be a logitech driver out of date because i just updated them, cant be a vid driver out of date because i just did that too. .shrug

Which solution? Deleting the civilopedia texts?

Yes, it's deleting the civilopedia text file.
By the way, i hope this isn't too much to ask but can you increase the unit quotation limit per civ or removing it because with 20 troops it so hard fighting the giant earth map.
Just asking =)).
Thank you.

Do you think it is G&K that I am missing?

The first texture i see missing is the granary that must be available some place other
than the G&K DLC

as far as i understand G&K dos not ad anything that BNW don't, besides maps and civilisations
http://steamcommunity.com/app/8930/discussions/0/864977026045727343/

But if G&K really is necessary this should be changed
(2) This MOD is NOT compatible with:
Any DLL MODs
Any MODs changing the CityView.lua, CultureOverview.lua, PuppetCityPopup.lua, EnemyUnitPanel.lua
Any MODs changing the tech tree or policy tree -- may cause the no-scrolling tech tree issue
Vanilla Civ 5 or G&K
Enhanced User Interface
Naval Counterattack (all ranged units can already counterattack ranged attacks in this MOD!)
Faster aircraft animations (Already included!)
Wonders of the Ancient World DLC (Will be automatically turned off when loading this MOD. You can still build these wonders, but tweaked effects.)

and i wold rather pay you 30€ for fixing this mod than buying G&K :)

I had some great games so far and the only bug not mentioned here yet i encountered is submarines attacking air ships ( quite effectively ).

I dont think torpedos are meant to kill air units ^^

I'm not sure if this is a bug with your mod as I have quite a few on, but I'm on about turn 230 and when it gets to the barbarians turn the game freezes, it doesn't close, it just puts the animated loading cursor on forever.

Edit: Denounced instead of forgave someone who was caught spying on me and it worked fine.

Oh i had those too, but you can just save the game and load the save. This way you can take a small break from the civ marathon ^^
