its a great game and they are coming out with a second one which i think will be even better seeing as how snake will be in it (and some other new charecters)

It's not that old a game! 
Fantastic fun though, loved playing it with friends. And as long as Pikachu is in the next one, then I'm happy.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is pretty old compared to Civ4.

Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii is the next one. It will have Wario, along with Solid Snake and that Kid Icarus chap.
Super Smash Brothers Melee is one of the best games I have ever played. The replayability certainly rivls that of the Civilization series.
They are coming out with a third.

I played the 2nd one, great game. I liked the different items you could use and donkey kong's ability to pick up someone and then jump off the edge.

Yes, I can't wait for the new one with Solid Snake (I don't have a PS3, so I won't be able to get MGS4 when it comes out). I still play SSBM a lot though, it's a great game.

It's the best console game ever, I still play it even to this day fairly regularly. Plus, I'm awesome at it.

Link is my favourite, since I can harass everyone by throwing bombs/shooting the bow/throwing the boomerang until they get close enough that I can smash them with my sword. 
And 2 sheilds is quite useful.
