Life II "Destroy Undead" totally destroys stacks of Stygian guards, and since you already have mages, it shouldn't be too hard to secure a source of Life mana to learn it.

Destroy Undead is useless against Stygian Guards, unless perhaps if said Stygians were upgraded fro drowns (although I think even that has been fixed). Stygians are demons, and the spell only works against the undead.

Drowns upgraded to stygians stop being undead and turn into demons. It used to be that they stayed undead and didn't become demons.

hmm... maybe that was from quite a few patches back... coz i definitely remember my Arthendain doing some damage to stygians with his spell...
... or maybe I remembered wrongly =P

it was in MP, so I guess the OO player must have upgraded them from drowns.
