Hi. :)
I just realised that i always have sweaty palms ... even in winter when my palms are not dry even at -10.

Is there any way to get rid of this, it's annoying obviously :( ...

And no, i am not going to carry around a bag of talc with me.

wouldnt worry about it, will make it worse.

could try washing your hands lots and trying to pull it off that its water or something, or always wear glove.

:hmm: Wearing gloves all the time would be really cool, but it would be wierd to do this now in the summer. I would want that but it would atract to much atention...

could wear cling film over your hands.....

may not be as good for your health though, just dont hold hands with anyone and no-one will notice.

I got the opposite problem: dry hands, although only in the winters. I wonder to what extent it's possible to train the hand to accept certain temperatures better.

well you could moisterurise...

I know and I do sometimes but it can smell and make the skin sticky so I rather not. Well, it's over now until it gets cold again.

Yeah, either wash your hands a lot or let your body work it out.

Or get a job that involved a lot of washing up, after working as a KP for a couple of months my hands were smooth as silk after spending so much time in water.

For dry hands there are thousands of methods, but why don't you like them dry anyway ... :hmm:

@BCLG100: I was thinking of smthing a bit less extreme.
Oh yea, and i can't play pool well with sweaty hands. (Not that i was any good at it anyway. :))

I take it you've never had the pleasure to have your hands so dry that the skin cracks, causing bleeding, when you flex your fingers.

When I've got a got a really bad cold, it happens that my lips similarly get so dry that they crack and bleed when I smile. I'm sure all the Goths are most envious.

i know people with that problem, bring a tea towel and wipe your hands and the cue.

Could be a sign of nervousness, so just dont get so nervous its only pool! :)

@TLC: Actualy no, i never had that with my hands ... like i said my hands are just as sweaty in the winter.:(
And about cracking lips: My lips bleed quite alot in the winter, i like that. My blood tastes preety nice & irony. :) I also do this acidentaly when i am very nervous, i bite my lips a little and i don't notice i got past the skin ... But that is going offtopic.

@BCLG: I've never seen that ... :hmm: I did see ppl wearing a white glove on their left hand ...
I did see some ppl putting a bit of that blue chalk powder on a small part between the thumb and pointer... i might try that, i've seen a friend do it.
But i was hoping for smthing a bit more permanent than that...probably nothing like that exists. (smthing that doesn't cost much preferabley)

Oh, and it may be the nervousness that is causing it ... kuz there are ppl around at that time, and i am very shy... But my hands are sorta sweaty even now ... and there is no one around ...

maybe your just getting hot but have you ever seen snooker, they have white cloths for that very reason, chalk would work as it would soak up the moisture but would kinda leave your hand looking a bit grotty.

you could just have naturally very warm hands. just try not to make them warmer by putting them in your pockets etc

Search for 'Driclor' on google, buy and apply it. Works perfectly for me.

Absolutely sexual, in every sense of the word. Best time of my life. However very off topic :p

There's a pool table in my halls of residence which I used to use quite a lot, it was there that I noticed my excessive perspiration. Driclor has done the business though.

Here is what wiki says :( :

Aluminum chloride (hexahydrate) solution: The most common brands are Drysol®, Maxim®, Odaban®, and Driclor®. Aluminum chloride is used in regular antiperspirants, but hyperhidrosis sufferers need a much higher concentration. A 15% aluminum chloride solution or higher usually takes about a week of nightly use to stop the sweating, with one or two nightly applications per week to maintain the results. An aluminum chloride solution can be very effective; some people, however, cannot tolerate the irritation that it can cause. Also, the solution is usually not effective for palmar (hand) and plantar (foot) hyperhidrosis.

:(
But i will probably look this up and see how much it costs ...

which uni are you at?

im off to glasgow in september hopefully if i get the grades...

Oh right. On the instructions for driclor (which is 20%) it says it works on hands/feet also - although I use it for the pits, so I wouldn't know ;) Cost me about £4, which is no more than $8 US. Have only applied it a couple of times.

Respect for choosing Glasgow :D Yar, i'm in my 1st year there and have been staying in Wolfson halls. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. My flat from July onwards is 300m from the Uni, so would be happy to meet you for a piss-up in the union some time.
