No, no they aren't.

are you kidding me? did you even look at the screenshot on the first page? this would like crash any regular computer in like 3 seconds you need practically a supercomputer to get a picture like that, or a graphics card.

No, yes, no and you clearly don't understand what you are talking about.

I can run it on a computer that cost less than £500... it looks pretty much like the screenshots as well.

Yeah this isn't 1995 anymore.

Yes! Yes it is the cheapest of all shots! I got it at the penny store

Il second GoodSarmatian's question.
Is it playable now or what is plane din the feature (mayer updates/dlcs aso)

Thanks Benefactor. I think I will wait at least till christmas sale at steam. If it's cheap I might buy it if not I'll wait a little longer.

I tried to load this up the other day and it's still rubbish. It has put me off pre-ordering, especially from Paradox.

They released several patches the last days but it's still in the Beta stage. I personally dislike the low performance (playing battles with multiple leviathan units is impossible), the lack of different maps/scenarios, the malfunctioning wiki and some techs (esp bio techs).
The ai always finds more colonizable worlds. In most games it takes me about 40 turns to find one planet with a biohazard level bellow 300 and a biosphere level higher than 3000. Most different types of planets are useless as they can not be colonized...
A big advance over SOTS 1 is the better interface/controll.

Win 95 is probably not even going to support this game because of the DX requirements. I believe it requires DX11. I think 95 is stuck at DX5.2

This is pretty much par for the course with Kerberos games. Sword of the Stars 1 was crap when it first came out, but after all the expansions it became an amazing game. The same goes for Fort Zombie, that game lagged like nobody's business before Kerberos patched it.

It was rather heavily discounted not long ago, and I still passed. I figured I'd get it once 3 expansion packs have been released and it's a "complete" edition for like 10$, hehe. That's what they deserve.

Smart move, by then it will probably be an awesome game since that's how all of Kerberos's games have been.
