Tactics and strategy...follow the action

Tx for the link icefire...

I screwed a little worker micro ... moved my worker from the forest to the marble tile to road... I had forgot that we changed of plan... sorry about that, that's a worker turn lost :(
I started another SK working fp. Maybe start on a settler size 4 and whip it? I would like to have it out before IS starts the Oracle so I can provide Babylon/Egypt/Aztec in troops instead of him :D

They have teched meditation this turn which means that they will have a head start on Oracle, but they don't have marble so we should beat them to it.

We have to be a bit more carefull on the micro side, this is quick speed and every turn, every worker move counts much more.

Dan you need to be working the desert instead of the forest hill, that is 2 commerce lost every turn for no reason, since you are not imperialistic.

Donovan can you please come up with a rough plan of improving land and getting a settler? You have spend alot of worker moves farming the floods, but there is no farm there yet. It is much easier to focus and find the optimal way to do things if you put a plan down IMO.

@ Icefire...thanks this might prove usefull

Finnaly next tech...I suggest we go meditation, it will be 2 turns faster than polytheism. we are already 2 turns back in research and giving them another 2 turn head start on Oracle will be like conceeding it.

In 4 turns we will have priesthood so I can start Oracle.

It takes 5 worker turns to improve the marble...that means Ras that it might be better to improve marble first give it to me in trade, build 2 more skirmishers and then do settler.

what do you think?

Moved my scout east 1 and discovered India already has a 2nd city down, 5N of Rome. Worth going around that city to the north to find out if India has Horse? If I move due West my scout dies if he has a unit in city #2. Also thinking of moving my city location 1W of the X. Gives me 1 less road to connect them and one more wood to chop. my city expansion reveals nothing exciting...

Will have worker out in 3 (says 4 but get 13 Hammers/turn and will mine Copper in 3), then go for Henge.

Been trying to log into the game, but to no avail. CivStats says that game is disconnected. IS, can you reload and either a) play my turn or b) pause the game so I can play it in about 6 hours?

Thanks!

Use your scout to reveal the fog but do it in away that he is not exposed to possible units in city, it will take more turns but you should be able to do it safely.

So you are going for 3rd woorker...fine, but in the meantime improve mine on the hill where your worker is and also the copper and then chop stonehedge with all 3 workers..it is important we get this.

Hmmm, civ stats crashed but the game was up....so you missed the turn? I would not want to reload unless something really important was missed.

Noticed that Egypt has a settler+2 archer stack 1NE of the horses and will probably settle on them next turn. Which means that WC's will be coming soon.

Egypt settled on the horse and aztec is spamming jags.... some screens on the situation.

Yeah jags are annoying... the one south of babylon can hit me in 6 turns.

I plan on slaving the settler and overflow into a SK to intercept that jag.
What is the plan for the attack? Now Egypt has horses, Babylon is the most logic target right? iirc we can have a force of 4 SKs + 7 immortals near babylon in 7/8 turns...

Babylon is the target yes, and if not able to kill at least choke hard.

Settler now is a dad idea IMO, that is why I previously said it might be better to make another skirm while growing size 5.

You need to occupy with skirms both forest hills on your next settling spot, a jag there would be really bad. Now that you moved that skirm next to warrior I don't know if you have time to make it back to the hill? Was that jag there when you finished your turn or did he move this turn? If this turn I suggest you move back to the other hill, if it already ws there lets see where it moves.

The other skirm should move in the spice forest IMO and then on the hill next to capital if he is allowed to.

Also you need to chop all your forests after improving marble to make sure no jags go there...so settler alone on the front without workers is a bit dubious.

Your call, but have in mind that you might seem to be delaying development by delaying settler, but geting these skirmishers out covering tiles and chocking babylon is more important now. Especially since the immortals are comming soon. In fact I would even consider barracks!?

Obviously for now I will have to assume that no Jags will come south given he knows I have dogs, since that second city will be defended by a warrior only while I chop Henge. Will have to watch where that Jag goes. If he goes south I will have to divert shields to an archer at least. Remember my road to city #2 will be delayed due to chopping Henge with all 3 workers.

Have you calculated what you will do Dan? It might not worth it using all 3 workers to chop.

Please check your status and calculate which turn you wil start henge, how much overflow there will be, what tile you wil work to see how many chops you need to get it in how many turns.

Also in second city it goes without saying that you start archer working food to grow and have slave available.

BTW why not send the dog to second city and keep the warrior in capital?

Capital has culture and can see what is comming and has pop to slave if needed!

@IS: sorry I missed your post talking about more SKs... but thinking at it, i believe you are right. A couple more before a settler might be better. Will look at the rax option too.
The jag was already there when I moved... so we need to wait for him to move.

PS: what is a "dad" idea?

Barracks might be exessive, I think 2 skirmishers will do nicelly, slave second for overflow to settler.

Dad idea

I could say an idea of your Dad which usually is a bad idea

I would move the SK three east of babylon one SW and stay on the pig one more turn with the other one to prevent the aztec scout to go there. Once the new one is done, I could move them both toward iron site... I think the jag will head my way rather than go on the hill next to the iron anyway.

Thoughts? 9 hours left on timer :)

I can switch the Dog with the Warrior. Closest Jag is 8 turns away so I have plenty of time to do that. Even than would be a risky move to him to send Jags south so a civ with a no resource axe with Immortals attacking a city defending by an archer UU.

India's culture saw my scout, damn mountains. But will continue my plan, they may think im going to check on Aztec. Will post Henge analysis in city micro section.
