Losing on settler is easy. Just walk your starting settler up to your nearest neighbour, declare war, and sit there.
Speaking of time wasted, I can't believe i'm still reading this threadWho on EarthGod's Land is missy. Time wasted!
This one is for the high and mighty. The game has a programed AI. It says right in the beginer''s manual that each leader has a certain set of stats and 2 traits, some 3. Try to use this. Let me know if you come up with any game tactic I could use. short but swet is ok.

digitcrumbles was it? You have given us nothing. Long article must make you think you are a wise [CIV IV] man. JUST FOR YOU [GAME SPEAK] terrain means alot, much of what you tried to speak about is also important. Still in the end you did not try to offer up anything, useing the end of a long post to attack ,my grammer,ideas,etc... Play nice and be constructive or else blow it out your ear. Because of people like you I lose time to understand and write about THE GAME!
much of what you tried to speak about is also important.
Don't be to bold, Fake an all out attack: then run like HEEEL only in the hopes of having the enemy follow you into a waiteing ambush, another trick when you run is turn around (VERY PRE PLANED) and have your troops whom seem to be in total disorder, turn and and kick but. Mao Tse -Tung. Guerrilla Warfare. Hit and run, by pass the heavys and whack the small enemy posts: but not always!
Had you taken the ? just a tiny bit more serious (O-you spoke on that ) you may have strung 2-3 more sentences togather to give to the CIV game community. Another chance squandered...O well.Use financial leaders to build a strong economy, use aggressive leaders to build a strong army... Is this a serious question?
By the book archers.which units are most suitable at the start??
spearmen? axemen? archers?
While this could be used with some very good effect, I would caution on,whom you attack, how many enemys you take on at once, the over all [MAXIUM STATE] of your military, those being the most important. Some would go into their tiraids about etc,etc... not needed for this responce. After having followed this thread without replying (I was looking for the right answer to tackle the questions), I think to have found the one and only tactic:
just spread some chaos among your opponents, then attack, even the strongest powers become weak by disorganisation
Just read your history again about the collapse of the great ancient cultures.
Must say that I have already had a couple of laughs reading through the different posts, eagerly awaiting other witty replies.
You seem to be relitive bright. Your last post was shallow for a reason. You would rather babble from the rules then post something. Is that to say there is nothing of use in what you wrote, well read the letter I sent you and you tell me. By the way donutCrumbler, your pity is wasted! If you have any questions about the GAME, feel free to ask. However, since you are making basic mistakes (for example: All leaders (except Sid Meir/Barbarians, which you can get if you are lucky, and make a colony, with unrestricted leaders on apparently) have exactly two traits, one Unique Unit, and, if you are playing BtS, one Unique building), I doubt you can give much help for the game, so posting a strategy article (something I would never do) is rather pointless at your level.
Depending on the leader and civilization, you will need to adjust your game-plan accordingly. Give us a leader and a civ, and people can give you the best game-plan for those circumstances.
Of course, THIS post is actually meant to help you. I feel pity for you, so no more mocking from me
However, I do HAVE to mock you for this awesome quote:
But, none of it was actually important. Its all actually stuff MEANT to sound smart, but providing no help whatsoever (just like your Opening post)
[/mocking]
