I read a posting just a few days ago where someone raised the idea of agreeing to ludicrous amounts of gold per turn in exchange for techs etc., arranged just before deliberately breaking a peace treaty thereby effectively suspending the payments. Well, while this is a sure fire way to loose any shreds of reputation you may have earned, be assured that the AI has no such compunction for compassion! In a post 2000AD game, whilst fighting one of those endless wars without end rendered lengthy by a complicated web of strategic alliances and mutual protection pacts, my gold supply started to dip into the negative due to a few hastily convened enemy trade embargoes. Seeking to bail myself out I sold a substantial number of techs to get the gold flowing back. Of course the very next turn at least two fo these major refinancing agreements were broken by a sudden war and I had even less cash, more war and my enemy had more techs. So be warned, the scheming little nasties...

The whole point of this strategy is to have the biggest army in the whole game and destroy early time those possible threats. And always try to be one single step ahead (or more than one if you like;)). Sorry pal:) :goodjob:...
