This is just a little discussion involving some possible deals with the Babs.

I say niether. We need Mysticism, but let's pick it up from Catherine later for cheap. Hammi won't sell it cheap enough, and I'm not in favor of giving him IW. Keep Alphabet, too. It's worth more than 28g, unless Catherine is going to sell it to him. Dunno.

No deals that I like are posted here. Although the Russians and Babs will meet eachother soon and spoil some trades, I don't see we won't have any better trading chances later on. Let's hold and don't trade.

I guess the big question is will Russian trade IW to the Babs when they do meet. I'm pretty sure they will, this may be our best chance to get some value from IW - I support making this trade.

As for Alphabet - no real preference here. Sorry, Octavian.

I say IW trade is OK, when they meet the russians, chances are they gonna get it off them.

They'll meet the Russians sooner or later (we're lucky they haven't already done so) and then I'm sure they'll trade between each other. So either we do the trade and get the money, or the Russians do. I may not particularly like trading Iron Working, but I'd rather we get the money for it than the Russians do.

If we do this trade it will leave Babylon with no money to buy Alphabet off the Russians, so we may be able to trade that to them later. We can then sell Mysticism to the Russians for whatever we can get, hopefully taking up all their available cash as well. This will leave them both penniless and hopefully slow them up a bit. We will be on even tech status with Russia, while Babylon will be missing Alphabet and Mathematics.

Therefore I would go for Trade #2 followed by Mysticism to the Russians.

Since the general concensus seems to be against any trades, we'll keep it that way.

Neither. Have the DP look out for potential trades, though. (i.e., The Wheel, Warrior Code -- maybe even wait for both. Those two can be pretty cheap sometimes). Make more friends, too! It increases the trading dynamics.
