Team Amazon pitboss

I have kicked bullrunner so Calanthian can join now. I tried to send Calanthian a PM since I see his is online now so hopefully he gets it and logs in :)

@ Calanthian - If you are really sad about the AI settling your first city let me know so I can reload the current turn before it ends... but it should be OK since the start locations are frequently the best place to settle anyway.

Also, I changed the timer to 12 hrs since no one objects. We will lengthen it back after 20 or so turns, but I will give plenty of notice when it time in case people still like the short timer.:)
 
I am afraid the AI has already settled and it's really bad..

I sure hope that we'll restart..

PS. Could the timer be 14hrs? Going to work, returning, kids will take me roughly that amount of time..
 
Purely as an accomodation for Calanthian, I have restarted the game... Without bullrunner volunteering the password he used for the civ, I could not figure out any other way to avoid having the AI auto-settle Calanthian's city, and with him reporting that it was in a really really bad location I assume that bullrunner must have moved the settler from the optimized location where settlers usually start... :(

At ant rate, everyone needs to reclaim their civs. I see nabaxo has already done so:goodjob:. The first turn is set for 48 hrs, but after that it switches back to 12 hrs. I know this is an inconvenience for everybody, and I apologize, but with Calanthian saying that the AI auto-settled in a really bad place, and with us only being on the 4th turn... I thought a restart was the most agreeable way to proceed.
 
Ummm... Hey sommerswerd. I'm getting some very strange behaviour atm in the game. First I get a message that says that my game files don't match yours, although I'm able to log in. But then there's a weird bug where it's not properly counting my food overflow... I'm not sure what to do here, it's already costing me. Is anyone else getting this?
 
As far as the "files don't match thing" ignore that. Everyone (including me) gets that error. I am trying to figure out what it is exactly, but it is not related to updates as the version is fully updated, and it does not affect play.

As for the food overflow thing :confused: I don't understand what you mean... can you explain? (use PM if you are worried about giving something away)... I don't get how you would have food overflow on the 3rd turn of the game... You realize we started over right? So this is turn 3 not turn 8...

EDIT: I think the issue is resolved, it has nothing to do with the msg about "file matching", just turn counting, bobbyboy29 please confirm... yea or nay... everyone else, play on.

I confirm this the game is screwed. It is not counting food properly, I had to switch various tiles to find one that counts food properly.

First time I have ever seen this.
 
Haven't actually worked food yet :p I can test it later when I log in.

Sounds like a re-roll to me? Unless someone actually knows what's up.
 
can we get an independent party to check ?

(log in as indiansmoke and see what is going on.. if it is screwed we need to start over I guess)
 
It's bizzare that it works for some but not others, which makes me think that it might be an issue with the individual computers, but if its screwed up for multiple people it is more likely that there is something wrong with the pitboss itself...:(

As much as I hate to do this to everyone I think we have to restart. If it was just one affected tile that would be one thing, but this seems like a bigger problem.

What I will do then is uninstall/reinstall Civ and BTS on the host CPU, then restart the game with the same settings...that way we can elimminate the host CPU as the problem. I will do this tommorow (well really today since its 2AM here:crazyeye:)

If anyone disagrees or has some other idea or wants to switch their civ or whatever, let me know.
