Team Pitboss Game

Can you please try again, if you see this, cav scout?

Edit: If you can send me an email while you're away, reminding me to take your turn, I can play for you while you are away. :)

I've paused the game.

Thank you. That also means I fixed the problem that prevented cav scout from connecting to the game, so everything is now as it should be. :)

The uploader is not connected. Also the connection is extremely slow, much slower than before.

Hm. Do you use Skype or GTalk? I would like to test the connection together with you. It may have been something as simple as a download that was active - but if it is not, then I'd like to find out what the reason is, and I have no option to test from inside my own network.

It was 95% certainly slow because my Internet connection was in use. Looking at the RRD graphs, my line was at 100% usage from about 12:30 until 16:30 my time (CEST).

I just tested the connection and it works fine,in fact it was super quick, much faster than normal, so hopefully that is a great sign you have fixed your server. Since it was only temporary, then it is no problem, but I thought with the new server might have been a problem, but obviously it wasn't related.

Great to hear that it works now :) It was a visitor who downloaded WoW without disabling the P2P part of it. So the line was at max usage both in and out.

according to my computer CavScout has paused the game, so nothing can be done. This means that during the last week we have... gone 1 turn backwards.

You can unpause the game and play your turn. Then repause the game. :)

On that note - there is no longer any reason to keep this game paused as the game has been back up for at least 24 hours now, so everyone should be aware of the game running again. Whoever sees this post first: Please log in and unpause the game so the game can continue with it's normal turn timer. Thanks :)

I tried many times - but it is not working for me :-( I am playing on Mac using Virtual Box, F8 is supposed to be pause/unpause button, but is not working for some reason.

Maga, I will unpause the game for you in a few minutes

Edit: Game unpaused with 11 hours left on the timer.

repause again?

In the initial period after a game downtime it is considered polite to the rest of the players to log in, play your turn, and then repause the game to allow anyone who haven't seen that the game is back up time to notice it. At the same time, it is important to not open any diplomacy windows to any of the other players during the grace time when the game is paused, as there is a bug present in Pitboss that locks players in those windows - making them unable to do anything - when the game is paused.

This "grace period" usually lasts for 24-36 hours after the game is back up after a downtime that has lasted for a day or more. If in doubt about whether to let the game run while it is paused, feel free to ask in this thread and either me or someone else will respond with a proposed best course of action :)

Hi Cal, I played, thanks. But somebody please pause the game for Dick, he is at war and will not be able finish his turn with 2hours left. Unfortunately, playing from Mac I cannot pause or unpause.

Please send me your pw and I will log in and pause.

PM'ed. Thanks, Cal.

I logged in, and realized that the turn had flipped. Then checked civstats, and saw that dick managed to play his turn, and ended it manually. So I logged out, and reloaded the game from the turnflip autosave :)
