Team Pitboss Game

Plako, if you are available, I would strongly prefer you to take it. Not only I will be available for only few days, but I am having hard time playing my current games and agreed to sub for Cav only because he is an old battlefield friend and is in war.

So, please, do sub it if you are able.

Does everybody know that the game is back on? Bowsling missed his turn :( and Dick and Arki did not log in since the reload, so perhaps we should play our turns and put the game on pause until we are sure that everybody is aware it is back on? Or just pause it until Bowsling, Dick and especially Arkippeler - who is during 2-front war now - would confirm that they know the game is back on?

I am sorry to said this, but my gsming computer does not cooperate any longer with me and I kerp loosing internet. This meanns I can no longer play net-based games as the pitboss or the Meds with f.ex 2metra. I will be able to do the succession game since i can load the game on a memory stick and play it without internet.
I'll try to get myself a new computer this summer

I think that means he has to drop out of this game, at least for awhile...

I tried to pause the game for Arki, but cannot in spite of on-screen keyboard (need more instructions on that, dratboy and 2metra).

Can somebody else play for Arki or pause for him?

I paused as per Maga's suggestion. I don't mind Regent subbing for Arki. Just don't expect to get to play too long ;)

Regent, I also do not think anybody would mind - we had player playing for different civs in this game already. And wrt to your previous modesty about subbing for Cav, Aivo is right - it seems not much can be done for Arki's civ than to die with honor :-( You proved to be very good at it :goodjob:

The problem is that Arki has computer problems and apparently did not leave a password :-( Emailed him about it and Cal about kicking Arki to AI, but got no response yet.

Anybody knows how to contact Bowsling? It seems he does not know the game is back on :(

Ah, sorry Maga, forgot the most important parts of the on-screen keyboard thingy.

which is
1) you need to un-select "full screen mode" in the BTS graphics options so that you are in Windows mode (you can see a windows title bar on your game)
2) make sure the onscreen keyboard "always on top" is activated, which will ensure that it is visible while playing.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. XP calls the button "BRK", but Windows 7 actually calls it "Pause".

Moot in this case since it's paused, but helpful in the future perhaps?

cheers

Tried to log in and stuck in diplo window. I also think it wasn't my turn yet in war turn order, but there is just 2h in the clock. Since pausing seem to be happening all the time longer timer might be in order until things start running again.

Responce sent. I am not able to play net-based games :(
My network-card crashed

I did everything just as you described - and it did pause, but my virtual machine, not the civ game

 Well, I'm out of ideas. That's at least a -3 penalty to my geek cred. :scan:

If you have skype, I could share my screen with you and perhaps we could try it together - I am not good with those things and use Windows only when I really have to - e.g. to play civ  - in other words, very rarely ;)

Yes, I have skype. I'll pm you my email. I'd probably be avail this weekend (Saturday night, Sunday?). Although I've basically told you everything I know about it. VM's are temperamental mistresses...

Thanks! My knowledge of Windows is minimal - I even had no idea an onscreen keyboard exists :-( - perhaps I am just overlooking something very basic. The strangest thing is that I once managed to pause and unease the game a couple seconds afterwards, both times completely accidentally and pre-onscreen keyboard thingy. So I know it is possible to pause and unpause from my VM (Virtual Box), just cannot figure out how :(
