Team Python- Monarch Training!

If you post a save amirsan, I guess I'm up next.

As an FYI, I'll be out of town from this Friday - Monday, so I'll need to be skipped then if my turn comes up. I'll have my laptop, but I'll be away from internet access of any type, so I can't upload the file if I play.

-=[Bump]=-

So who has the save now? I dont want this SG to die on me.

@Amirsan - have you seen the links I have provided to you of my Turn Report Samples?

Sorry CG, yes I accidently missed it sorry. I saw your links, thats how you should write, with just a little more description. Kotatsu took the save. Lets keep this moving now with my accidentle delay. CG, all of your troubles are to be fixed here before playing in the real SGs and especcially your personal games. Quitting wont teach you anything, it will only teach you to do the same with all the games you start in Monarch and any SG out here.

You are nere to learn, play and esspeccially HAVE FUN! Dont feel pressurized when doing turns! Relax and pay attention to what you do, take every thing to think for a second and not rush it. Write down every important detail and start the next turn.

This is for everyone as well. :)

Pre-turn evaluation: I'm a bit surprised that we don't have any swordsmen on their way to the south; all we've got to fend off the Russians is a couple of regular warriors. Also, Karakorum's working on a swordsman, but has no barracks. The best I can think to do is move those warriors to form a wall at the Russian border, though we do still have a lot of barbs running around. (amirsan: You may want to take some of your own advice; if you're moving a unit, let us know where it's intended to go. At the very least it would make your intentions easier to see.)

IBT: Big barb attack; the worker near Hovd is killed, and the warrior in the far NW is attacked twice by horsemen, losing one health and promoting to Elite.

1: 610 BC - Karakorum finishes Swordsman, begins Barracks (2). Darhan builds Worker, begins Galley (30).
The new worker begins to clear jungle. Swordsman attacks barb, winning with no damage. The workers west of Kazan are in danger from a horseman; they won't die this turn, but they *will* die the next. I wake them up and move them to the city. Worker near Kara. finishes road, moves to next river-side plains. Mining of hill near Tabriz complete (to no effect; corruption eats the new shield) and I move them to help clear the jungle. I send the new swordsman toward the southern cities, to clear out the barbs - his regular status won't be as useful against the Arabs.

IBT: Barb attacks fort. archer and dies, Horsie attacks NW warrior and dies, but inflicts 2 damage. Horsie that had been threatening the workers moves next to our swordsman; how accomodating. Medina culture-advances.

2: 590 BC - Ta-Tu finishes Swordsman, begins Swordsman (8). Move the Kazan workers back to irrigate again; that might've been a waste, but better safe than sorry. Swordsman attacks horsie, takes 1 damage and kills it. Mathematics due next turn, but science slider is already at the 1-turn minimum. New swordie moved to wall.

IBT: Russian attack force of 1 archer and 2 swordsmen appears! Horsie attacks one of our southmost warriors and kills him, but is at 1 health.

3: 570 BC - Mathematics finished. (amirsan: You said in CG's turn critique that you didn't think Literature was 'a bit better' than HBR. Care to explain why? We're not going to learn much if you make statements like that without telling us the reasons behind it.) After considering the possibilities, I'm tempted to go with Monarchy, but decide on Code of Laws; corruption's pretty severe at this level.
Karakorum finishes Barracks, starts Swordsman (3). Ulaan. finishes Spearman (will be used for Settler escort), starts Spearman (3). Choyb. finishes Warrior, starts Warrior (10), though that Russian force will probably wipe it out before then.
...or not. The Russians are willing to talk to us, and are not only ready to sign a peace treaty, but will also give us 20 gold for our trouble! "Gee, let me think about that... uh, sure, I guess." They've also got CoL, but want Mathematics and Arab contact in exchange. They're still Annoyed...
With the Russian situation resolved, I think I'll start against the Arabs soon.
Note to other players; please don't use 'go-to' commands except over short distances or through our own territory. I just watched our warrior walk right past that wounded barb horseman.

IBT: Russians advance; wounded horsie moves to meet them. Maybe they're still planning to attack... if so, not much I can do about it.

4: 550 BC - Kazan finishes Spearman, begins Swordsman (5). New Spearman fortified.
Jungle near Tabriz cleared (normal grassland); workers sent to clear next jungle.
Our warrior kills wounded horsie.
Luxury set to 20% to combat unhappiness in Karakorum; a Temple might be a good idea at this point. Science to 40% to make up for money loss.

IBT: Lots of Russian/barb movement, nothing notable. Horsie shows up west of Ulaan.

5: 530 BC - Workers near Kazan finish Irrigating, start road. Worker finishes road in mountain next to Dalan., starts to clear forest (that city needs food, and the forest is in the way of irrigation).
NW warrior healed, attacks horsie... and gets wounded again. Oh, well.
S warrior kills a new barb horsie, takes 1 damage.

I'll finish the next 5 turns tomorrow... out of time tonight.

Err, can you elaborate on that some more?

@CG- I mean that, here is where you should make ALL of your mistakes so we can fix them before you get to the real SG's and your personal games and competition games. Do you wanna make those mistakes then??? Dont worry if you make the mistake 1 or two times, but here is where you are going to learn that those 1 or 2 times will be your last time making those mistakes. I had the same problems about MM, believe it or not, I put the Governer to work all the cities becuase I hated MMing, you will learn here like I learned on my own. Just try your best. :)

@Kotatsu- I will check your turns as soon as you finsih the rest.

@Everyone- I do not see much participation, please talk. :)

Well, I am playing the GOTM now. I guess that is considered a competition game, though I am only playing it for fun.

Continuing...

IBT: Barb horsie attacks Mandalgovi, Spearman goes elite. Russians are either going for Choyb. or heading for the barb camp near it.

6. 510 BC - Ulaan. finishes Spearman, begins Swordsman (5). Spearman fortifies.
Worker near Karakorum finishes irrigation, starts road. Wounded warrior near Choyb. enters the city (just in case), wounded NW warrior fortifies. Swordsman heads south from Tabriz, spots barb horsie.

IBT: A different horsie attacks our swordsman, but dies - no damage. Horsie near Ulaan. tries to run around it, is in position to get whacked. Russians are definitely going for the camp.

7. 490 BC - Karakorum finishes Swordsman, begins Temple (5). Almarikh finishes Temple, begins Swordsman (8).
Wake warrior in Ulaan; he takes down the horsie, receives 2 damage, and promotes to Veteran. Swordsman cleaves through barb horsie near Tabriz, spots camp SE of hill. Fortify Warrior in Choyb. New Karakorum Swordie goes to wall.
Workers near Kazan finish road, move SE to connect it. Swordsman arrives near barb camp SW of Hovd, settler and spearman nearby. Probably better to settle on the hill and automatically wipe out the camp than attack the mountain-fortified warrior; my luck's been dubious this game.

IBT: The Russian archer moves back east, the others toward the camp.

8. 470 BC - Tabriz swordie takes the camp and promotes to Veteran. Not much else going on...

IBT: Russians take the barb camp; I see now there were two archers and one swordsman, instead of the other way around. Oh, well. Their swordie is wounded for 1 life; all three are regular. Barb attacks the fortified warrior near Erdenet and dies. Note that the Arabs are culture-growing considerably.

9. 450 BC - Kazan builds Swordsman, starts another (5). Swordie heads to the wall.
Settle Tsetserleg (stupid Mongol names...) on the hill SW of Hovd, dispersing the encampment. Set it to build spearman (20).
Karakorum worker finishes; moves to mine hill.
NW warrior spots camp.

IBT: Russians are heading back to their territory; one of them steps into our territory, just north of Choyb. How dare he! Must... KILL... no, we'll leave him alone. Barb near Tsetse attacks and is clobbered.

10. 430 BC - Ta-Tu finishes Swordsman, starts another (8). Mandalgovi finishes worker, starts Spearman (20).
Egypt has finished the Colossus.
Send Mandal. worker NW to build road. Kazan workers finish road; putting a quick route between Kazan and Hovd seems like a good idea, so move them SW to do that.
NW warrior takes barb camp, as well as 2 damage.

We've got 19 swordies on the Arabian border. You ask me, it's time for WAR...

...and I'll let whoever's next handle that. ;)

One save, hot'n'spicy!

Hmm, I wonder where amirsan is at. I know, its my turn, but I need to wait for the all clear from him.

No I saw jimmy's turns but couldn't write the report, I will when I get home (someday) from my cousin's house :). I think we need another player, it would help sinse GI JOE is gone. I cat check back the pages becuase my cousin's compuyter is an imac and its soooooooooo slow so I dont know who was it that was interested in joining.

DOnt forget to look in my sig :), join my NES if you are into NESing. :D

Ohh, sorry, lol. I was posting a I scrolled and saw a post from jimmy, sorry if I'm loosing it, lol. I just got home and my mom said I have to get off at 9:00 disallowing me to report the turns... arrgh. PLease tell me you guys aren't loosing interest becuase I am not its just time has became constraining and when I get out of school I'm not at home until 5:00 and today I got home at 8:30 or so...

@CG- You may play turns but DO NOT post them, this will give you an extra day to look them over and put more details.

@Everyone- I will definetly do them tommorrow, sorry :(.

PreTurn- Yes, I see, sorry for myself not putting those details...I do not see a need to send more warriors south or especcially Swordsmens sinse we have a strong military against them and it will take at least 10 turns for them to travel with a sizeable army, though a couple spearmen will fend them off substacially.

Turn 1- I think that worker kill could've been prevented by moveing the warrior in garrison to protect. Ok Karakorum to barracks is alright. I do not see how a galley from this city would be productive when it could be building a temple or Harbor. More swordsmen production is not needed sinse we have 17 swords and 15 warriors, it is beggining to hit us economically with over support. I would've started a temple in Karakorum so the luxury tax can be at 0% at all times at least until 12 population which by then we might have more luxuries etc. I clicked the worker and they stated that thier irrigation will finish in two turns, I would've kept them there. You think why, they will die? Well you see the spearmen below and above Kazan and Karakorum, this will be able to be sent to the worker in the same time of the proposedly attack and should be moved toward there so the worker can be finished with its work and add the needed production in Kazan. The sent swordsmen is a good choice, one wont hurt our campaign. Did you not attack a barb horse in the north which would have been 1 attack against 1 defense?? Though if you didnt, which I think you didnt, now it will be our 1 defense against thier 2 attack, not good.

Turn 2- Ahh, the barb horse moved to another space, but you lost your production as well... Sword to sword in Ta-Tu is good, nothing better at moment except temples. Medina's cultural increasement means that they are spending shields on improvemnts instead of defense. Please tell me, are those swordsmen there for show and amusment?? We should start advancing to attack, atleast before they assume suspicion and begin using shields on defense. Good victory :). I am glad we are getting used to lowring science every time its one turn left even for a couple gold per turn, good.

Turn 3- I guess I underestimated the Russians... About the Literature vs. HBR, I did explain why though I will feel happy to explain again. Literature allows two things, Libraries and the Great Library. We are not building the Great Library and we dont even have Temples done to start Libraries! So why use our gold and time to research it? HBR on the otherhand does allows the view of Horses which is valuble and also allows us to start building Horsemen (which we should start before getting into the next age), it is more valuble :). About your move into Code of Laws, we should've started Currency for the need of more gold and extra effect of Luxuries, I do not think we are corruption limit just yet. Ok Karakorum to swordsmen is not exceptional, we are at our limit for military numbers and must stop, for now. A temple is waitimg to be built so more taxs could come in! Spear in Ulaan is not bad, Choy should've been changed to Spear before for more defense if you ask me. Ok, Russia signs peace, good. This is where we should've changed our science and started something worthwhile.

Turn 4- Ok the new spearmen should've been sent to the stack with our military for garrison on captured cities. Lowered Science was good, highered Luxury is what I noted above :D. Arrgh, we should be attacking the arabs by now... The Russians, (if you were diplomatically looking) would've gave us CoL for Math and 50g.

Turn 5- I do not see nothing bad to note here.

Turn 6- Arrgh moe swordsmen production, there is no need. I took out one barb camp... we need to fight the barbs at thier house, not in ours.

Turn 7- Yes, it seems they are going for the camp... Alas! You start the temple! No you start another swordsmen! A granary should be started in that city a long time ago due to the loss of food! We need food, WHEAT!. We still didn't attack... If the diplo was looked at, Russia is willing to spit thier map for ours and 50g. I took out two barb camps in my part...

Turn 8- The people love us! They didn't cut bark for you King Kotatsu?? :( I took out another barb camp.

Turn 9-The Russians took the barb camp huh, when you could've got it like 3 turns ago... Another swordsmen started, arrgh. The Arabs should've been attacks quite a while ago...

Turn 10- I am glad you didn't attack  Yay! You start thinking about war! When your turn is over...

I make battle plan that is optional, I want you guys to think up your own though so if your stumped, look at the link. ;)
