Teams you love to hate...

Here are the baseball teams I hate:

Giants, Dodgers, Rockies, Padres, Mariners, Athletics, Angels, Rangers, Astros, Reds, Cubs, Cardinals, Brewers, Pirates, Twins, Royals, White Sox, Indians, Cardinals, Braves, Expos, Phillies, Marlins, Mets, Yankees, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Devil Rays, and the Orioles. Why? Because they aren't the diamondbacks.......

Nah, this doesn't make sense. The Diamondbacks are a "Johnny come lately" team with all of, what, 5 years history? That simply isn't long enough to build up a proper loathing of any rivals. :crazyeye:

If you said the Yankees - because of Steinbrenner, because they buy all the decent players, because they're from NY or just because they're the Yankees, that would be fine. (Or because you're a lifelong Dodgers fan who still thinks they probably will return to Brooklyn soon...)

But 5 years is only the necessary lifetime in sport to develop a true and lasting hatred if you're aged 7 or less.

So there.:p

Feyenoord....it's in my DNA :p

Hmm... interesting. As an AJAX fan I am supposed to say "I hate Feyenoord the most of all". But I just hate PSV much more than Feyenoord. I dont like them (F) but I think PSV are more NOT a club of the people. They are a club bought together by a large multinational.

A club without a soul and without a history: a meaningless emptey club IMO! :p

All the replies on this thread add up to a list of the successful teams/players. Lets face it most of the time people hate sports teams because they are successful.

So come on all you Man Utd and England haters, lets hear from you. (esp you Scots – you hate us because we are successful – compared to you that is).

This is why I can never support England in football. The fact is that if they win something they can't shut up about it.

I'll easily admit England have a very good team, a team I think were more than capable of winning the world cup in 2002, but what I hate is the fact that if you win anything then you'll let us know about even 37 years after it happened. I also don't like the fact that the English media before every major Competition has to build England up like it will win easily and then when they get knocked out start rolling out the usual excuses, like after World Cup '98 the way David Beckham was made the scapegoat following the defeat to Argentina.

I would give my support to England if I just knew that they would be graceful in victory and not stuff it down our throats.

As for the 2002 World Cup, I believe England could have quite easily won it had they actually played anywhere near their potential. All they had to do was beat Brazil which was more than possible. The fact was the media built up every England performance like it was their greatest when actually they played terribly, the only good game they played was against Denmark and they won it comfortably!

And of course following defeat to Brazil and England's elimination a scapegoat had to be found; David Seaman. See what I'm saying.

The fact is England are a very good team which always plays far below its full potential. Also I think that if they had more grace in victory then I could give my support for them...

NFL - Raiders, Dolphins

NHL - Montreal Canadiens, NJ Devils

NBA - LA Lakers

MLB - NY Yankees

can you tell i'm from boston? :D

Nprwich City FC - local rivals, turnip heads and sheep shaggers.

And its just great that their chairperson (or on the board anyway) is an octogenarian telly cook.

Spot the tractor boy - Delia an octogenarian?

 it's basically why I put the :p there: Feyenoord is the traditional enemey: some people say Feyenoord - PSV and Ajax - PSV are classic games too. Untrue. There's only one 'klassieker', and that's Ajax-Feyenoord. Some decades ago the fight between the two was everlasting, but Feyenoord didn't improve as much as Ajax over the years, and even PSV has won more titles than them now. I still think there aren't any more emotions in any league game (for me at least) than at an Ajax-Feyenoord.

The Boston Bruins of the NHL. There's a long history between them and my team The Habs). Even when we had the Nordiques up in Québec city we had great games against the Bruins.
I hope I'll get to hate Toronto soon ;) What I mean is that I hope Montréal and Toronto start a rivalry that's worth it. They play each other a lot but the emotion is not there. That will change this year when Mike Komisarek starts crushing players! :D

If they aren't the diamondbacks, then they aren't worth liking, they have hundreds of years combined playing w/out any consideration of arizona, so I'll use that as a reason to hate :D

It is kind of hard to hate detroit though, they are 18-56

any team from Detriot or Chicago. That goes for NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL and any other league/

I hate them too but just because their coach is Guus Hiddink and he coached Korea in the World Cup (korea eliminated Italy  )

well....90% of my hate goes to moreno the other 10% goes to korea

 you know about Moreno letting a game in Ecuador continue for an extra 12 minutes so one of the teams bend a 2-1 loss into a 2-3 win? :D
