I found and dowloaded this Tech editing and positioning tool, however, it doesn't seem to be working, even on BIC files which are uncompressed. Does anyone know of any other tech edition tools out there which help with the positioning of techs? I've done it the hard way before, positioning boxes on a scale size bit map image of the science chooser screen but am wondering if there are any short cut programs out there.

Thanks, :)

I don't know any new tech editor for conquest

The easier way i've found, is to enter your techs in the editor of Play the World
then that tech editor give de coordinates of the tech boxes ...and you enter the new coordinates with the conquest editor

Oh, speaking of utilities, Civ3 Multi Tool has a tech-positioning tool, although you have to go through the Multi Tool menu, as it isn't displayed on the start menu...

Thanks Virote_Considon I'm downloading it now. :)

EDIT: WOW!! The Multi-Tool is AMAZING!!! The tech editor is like a dream come true!!! I love it!! :)

I tend to do it the stupid way by approximating a location, saving, loading up the game, checking, alter the location a bit, saving, loading up the game, checking, and repeat until I get the location I want.

Can't believe I didn't think of the MS paint to find the pixel coords. :crazyeye:

I started out using MS Paint to find the pixel coordinates but even that gets pretty tedious after awhile. The Multi-Tool is just AMAZING! You just drag the tech squares around the screen until they all fit nicely! It only took me about an hour to finally get everything positioned the way I wanted it. I highly recommend it to everyone. :goodjob:
