Tech spike issue with missionary and INTERFAITH_DIALOGUE

I received a 500 or so beaker spike when my missionary converted my fairly new 3 person city to my religion. It went from 1 mine/2 other to 3 mine.

I had chosen this belief because I was so behind in science:

How does this work?
Most city conversions I saw no change in science which really frustrated me that I had thrown this away.
However one turn before I reached ?Architecture? or same x-axis science, the 500 b spike occurred.

I also observed the AI was way ahead of me science wise. I was seeing little spikes hear and there that I didn't anticipate, but they were double me until the Renaissance.
 
The only change to this belief is an increase of the multiplier, although it may be a drastic change.

Vanilla = 10 and Ceg = 50

So it should work along these lines.

Regardless of the number of cities you have the total number of citizens flagged as being of 'other' religion multiplied by the belief science multiplier gives your science boost.
However, when this is calculated, or how often, I can't determine. It may be only on turns that include a 'conversion' or it may be each turn. Beyond my scope, at the moment.

It would seem though that a reduction in the multiplier is called for. 15 maybe. Or even a return to vanilla.
