Welcome to the Foreign Affairs Ministry for Term 4 starting 00:00 GMT on 1 April! Here’s where all matters involving contacts, treaties, war (and peace) declarations, embassies, etc. should be brought up for discussion.

Goals for this term:
1 – To only get into wars that we want to get into.
2 – To build our reputation with our neighbours to maximise our trade and alliance opportunities.

By the start of this Term We'd met all the Civs, but who would be our friends and allies, and who our enemies?

By the end of the Term, we knew, Russia, Babylon, India and Germany are no more and our home continent is entirely Pink!

We have only six opponents left.

All the German cities on our continent were captured on the first turn. The final city on the tundra island followed a couple of turns later.

All our continent is now Pink!

Anyway, a request from Military. The Egyptian War should be a short, and quick one. The Egyptian colonies should be taken over on the first turn of the war, with ample room to defend ourselves, as the AI can't land a decent invasion. It's possible that, within the next 4 turns, Egypt could be asking for a peace treaty. Please look into this, or offer to stop the chat if any trades (i.e., for cities) come up due to the war. Also, the war should be after all trades are done.

Starting in the next turnchat, I expect us to trade for luxuries with the Persian continent civs. We may also trade technology to Persia for gpt.

Please consider that refusing demands might brake trade routes and/or kill deals. We should avoid that if we can by giving petty cash and/or maps. Not techs or resources!

We made Peace with Egypt in 780 AD for 27 gold, 11 gold per turn and a World Map.

The Iroquois have not fared so well and have been exterminated by the Aztecs!

Babylon has declared War on Germany!

Events during the last session:

At the end of turn 3, Persia demanded 35 gold and a territory map. Refusal of this demand would have almost certainly have led to war, lost us our gpt deal with Persia and prevented us trading for luxuries with that continent as trades go through Persain waters at the moment. In accordance with the instructions to protect our trades if demands are made, President Bootstoots paid the demand. It was worth it - we now have 49 gpt, Spices, Furs and Ivory from that continent!

Events since the last session:

The very first turn Egypt asked us to renegotiate Peace. This was expected as we had a gold per turn deal with them for Peace following our last war. We lost the 11 gpt, but this means we will not automatically have to renegotiate when this Peace deal expires.

Our poll for Do we declare War on Babylon? said Yes, and we formed a ROP with Russia to move our troops into Mure. But even with the ROP we didn't trust those Russians and as we were preparing our forces 3 Archers moved into our territory near Groton (see screenshot) was this a sneak attack, was this a quick route to the nothernmost Russian City, or even the German one. We watched them closely. Our Iron near Groton/Sanction was protected, but not that by Mure. A couple of turns later they moved a Spearman onto our Iron by Mure and a couple of other units near Groton - coincidence? Probably not. It wasn't; Russia declared war during the in between turn leading to 1040 AD, violating their ROP with us. We had no troops in their territory so it was just their reputation that was hit.

This unwarranted attack was repelled and ignited our Golden Age - Long Live Fanatica!

Events during the last session:

We Renegotiatiated Peace with Persia, then commenced to destroy the Russians.

There was a short War between Persia and Zulu, in which Persia gained 3 cities. Persia is now a Monarchy and we have an Average military to them.

It's now 1170 AD and there's only 1 Russian city left. Bye Bye Catherine!

Russia is now down to one city, so it is time to turn our thoughts to the future conquest of Babylon. Discussion of our Military Plans, which obviously also involve FA are here

We declared War on Babylon on turn 6 and they were destroyed on Turn 11 (no picture - sorry).
