Term 8 President's Thread

The thing thats cool to do is to have the cats to actually attack the city. When there are bunches of troops there. The first 2 or 3 may lose but then when the collateral damage starts hurting them the cats start winning. You then get promoted cats which you can use to upgrade to cannons which start to be just city garrison killers. You run the cossacks to kill anything moving, the cats with some maces to take the cities.

Whats the point in going to all that trouble? dllotsofnumbers already pointed out that a cossak has a very good chance against a longbow with defence and 60% we may as well just use the cats to bombard the city defence down with the occasional suicide, instead of just wasting units.

because we are building cats now and we cant build cossacks yet.

yes so why dont we just use the cats we do build to knock down city defences instead of forcing us to continue building them when we can build cossaks.

you dont have to...you build a stack of about 5 to 7 is all you need.( ie what ever we get built) The cossacks run past the first city (cat attack city) and hit the second.

As I opened the save, this deal appeared. I accept it.

Should we send a boat to grap a goodie hut.

Something terrible happened. Barbarian archer killed axeman with odds of 1% :( Poprush archer in Privet.

I thought we weren't going to open borders with them. We have nothing over there to look in their territory except from the sea but they can map ours in 10 turns then cancel the deal...bad decision. Especially when you consider that they offered us a tech to look around. Now we gave it for free.

Everything else looks good.

No that is not what is happening at all. If you pay more attention then you will read that both sides have to give express permission for one side to wander around in the others territory.... good decision as now they dont have anything to be arsey about.

Show me where BC....if you are talking about the Epsilon thread. There is nothing there that says we have to give "express permission". No never posted saying what they responded to our only "open borders with no passage" message. What are we to do if they enter our lands?????

This message was in our mail box:

Dear Aloha,

Thanks for getting back to us. We understand your position – as you
noted, it's very similar to ours. If you decide to change you mind on
selling your map, let us know.
Also: Apparently I was misinformed about the minimum time frame on an
Open Borders deal – I don't suppose it makes a difference to you if
you were just allowing one unit (our explorer) just 10 turns
to escape his current trap?

If so, we'd still be willing to pay you Philosophy
(800:science: base) for our explorer's safe passage.

Assuming that you won't go along with that – we'd still welcome the
opportunity to trade with your great people via a "No Units Open
Borders" deal.
We will propose this offer on our next turn – and if you decide you
want to allow our explorer through, let us know, and we'll make all
the college dropouts in Aloha thrilled. :)

To Peace and Trade,
Foreign Minister General_W
Servant of the Leader
Epsilon Team!

So I'm assuming no units are allowed to enter the territory until after we negotiate. Seems like a reasonable deal. We disagree about units entering, but we both want the ob bonus. Makes sense to ob and discuss scouting later.

I think suicide catapults are not good. The best solution is 4 accuracy promoted catapults for each stack. 4 accuracy cats bombard city defence to 0% in one turn. Cossacks will kill anything before Redcoats come. Only big stack of cannons may cause problems.

Edit: cannons require iron so ignore that. I don't see if Piffle can stop Cossacks running over their lands in very short period. They must have realised that and likely are planning to attack us before we hit them. Cossacks are Medieval Age Praetorians.

Greetings Epsilon

I'm afraid we can agree to neither of them deals, we would of course be interested in trading for philosophy and compass. However the chief (i assume) is a lot like your leader, he is very loathe to let explorers into our land when the deal cannot be reciprocated.

I am also afraid we will have to turn down the offer of our map in exchange for philosophy, the map contains sensitive information from not only our nation but also a variety of others so we can hardly justify the sale of them for a drop out university subject

You say we have open borders with all other nations so naturally we would be glad to sign open borders with you under the condition that it is simply open borders to increse commerce and no units be able to traverse it. This is an agreement similar to what we have with other nations and we would like to extend it to you.

BCLG and the alohan nation

fairly self explanatry really..

Greetings epsilon

we are most gratefull for such a deal however we must decline it primarily because our inbred yokels from kuningas getting 'busy' has left many unable to actually attend university and therefore philosophy is of no use. Also the chief is very angry that a mere foreign minister has so much power let alone let folk run around in his lands, we showed no hesitancy in signing open borders with you as we trust you are a team of honour and will therefore not try and take advantage of a compulsory open borders turns.

In the future we should definatly be interested in an ability to allow civilian vessels through each others lands to find more cities to trade with but for the time being this is also a nul point. The humble people of aloha hope that the entire Epsilon nation is getting on soundly and enjoying their influx of university drop outs :)

Best Regards
BCLG and then Alohan nation

Greetings innovia- this is very acceptable to us indeed, perhaps we can also meet online shortly and discuss some long term goals including future tech plans, where this game is going and the possibility of war?

 OMG  IRON resource. Maybe we have our own iron resource in far north...

Upgraded archer to long-bowmen as barbarian axe is approaching from north. Should I poprush second defender in there?

I say yes on the poprush...better safe than dead.

IRON I freaking knew it. I wonder if they know about it since they made no indications of it. ALSO why put a city way far away on elephants but no the same distance on IRON. We need to hit them before they get that hooked up.

Also...has their ax been following us the whole time.

Maybe they hadn't found it yet. But now they have. And having someone follow you is never a good sign. We need to hit them hard and hit them now.

Also, just north of Privet is some furs and darkness. What do you think the chances are of finding some iron for ourselves up there?

Wow. The Iron isn't in the easiest to find spot. I wonder how many teams if any have actually spotted iron.

And let not get our knickers in a twist, Piffle are a long way from connecting it:D

further the iron only gives them a unit against our cossaks which is 2hp more than a spearman or cannons which they are a lot further a way from getting than we are getting cossacks.
