Terra Novus - Modern Civ Pack (Pre-development Planning Thread)

Theres a translation released by a brazilian site called GameVicio but i prefer to play in english... so i dont have to translate every mod that i play...

And don't have time and patience.... ;)

If you need some help with the designs just let me know.

Alright. Sorry for my inactivity, I've been busy with RL stuff (that I won't have to deal with after this month). In light of the announcement of the expansion, we'll be waiting until then, to see what changes are made to the game and to modding.

With Civ's permission, I present two civs

Civ: Finland
Leader: Mannerheim
UA: Tundra Warriors: Tundra and Snow provide two food, snow does give attack penalty, and +50% defence when on snow or tundra in own territory
UU1: Hakkapeliitta (Replaces Lancer) -2 attack, but may attack twice per turn (Does not get to move after second attack)
UU2: Motti (Replaces Infantry) -25% cost, +33% flanking bonus

Civ: CSA
Leader: Jefferson Davis
UA: Agrarian Economy: Farms and plantations provide 1 gold each
UU1: Stonewall Brigade (Replaces Rifleman) +50% attack and defence when in own territory
UU2: Casemate (Replaces Ironclad) Doesn't require coal, +2 movement

Well, I was just going to bump this, but then sukritact made another awesome map!
Here's Gran Colombia:
Spoiler :
grancolombia.jpg

Could it be called just "Colombia"? I say this because never has an entity called "Gran Colombia" existed, what happened is that parts of Colombia eventually became independent.

Other civilizations in the game have gained and lost territory, and a different name isn't used on them just due to those territorial changes (for instance, a Rome that encompasses just Italy is just as much a "Rome" as the whole later empire).

This would also allow use of unique units or buildings of a greater portion of Colombian history.

While that is true (as I have pointed out), and the civ may include later units and buildings, the emphasis is placed on the Colombia the Bolivar led.
On the civ list, it will likely be called Colombia, despite what the map says.

Here's a finn's (me) own version of the Unique Ability.

+1 :c5culture: Culture from each worked Forest and Lake. Receive a free :c5science: Technology and a :c5culture: Social Policy when Education is discovered.

(By the way, only Lapland has tundra ;))

Interesting idea. A free tech AND social policy might be overpowered, though.

I wouldn't say so. Education comes a bit late, and the main bonus is weak and long-term, so it needs a powerful short-term filler.

May I suggest a better UA/UB for Brazil? it can be something like that:

UA: Ordem e Progresso : "We love the King day" events are +50% longer and no loss of Golden age Points and less penalties on the strenght of units with Unhapiness .

About their UU,it can be the "Independence Dragoons",which would replace Lancers, but it wouldn't have their defense penalty . For UB,it can be something like this:

Unique Building: Sambodrome. Replaces Opera house . Along with the 4 :c5culture: it also gives +1 :c5culture: and +1 :c5happy: for each luxury resource worked by the city during "WLTKD" events

The idea here is to create a synergy between the UB and the UA in this case and Sambodrome would work much better than "Soccer stadium" for Brazil's UB . What do you think?
